A faint stream of light drifted over the plain, sending ripples through the air around it.
Then the figure of a young man appeared, materializing there.

Back in the Wizard World after leaving the Emerald World, Arthur gazed at the distant scene with a calm expression. The thought crossed his mind.
The world had changed beyond recognition. Tens of thousands of years had passed, and the Wizard World was no longer what it had been.
The place before him had once been the site of the Emerald Tower, within the boundaries of Emerald City. Now, however, it had become a ruin.
Back when Arthur became the Son of Emerald and formally summoned the entire Elf race to join him, this city had been immensely glorious. Its prosperity had been enough to amaze even the well-traveled wizards.
But now, after the passage of so much time, the once-prosperous city had changed beyond recognition.
The people of old had died, their bones buried somewhere unknown. As for the city that had once stood here, it had become a ruin.
Tens of thousands of years ago, at Arthur's request, Hemuk and Ximal had taken charge of the affairs of the Wizard World and begun to make changes. They moved Emerald City to another, more suitable location.
The original Emerald City lost its place as the center of the Elf race and gradually declined, becoming an ordinary city.
Time continued to roll on. In the long years that followed, an accident occurred: two powerful wizards once fought a decisive battle here.
No one knew the outcome of that battle, but the former Emerald City had been destroyed in the clash between those two wizards, leaving nothing but ruins.
