Ye Lan trained from a young work-study student into a Soul Master, then chose a Sun-Chasing Incineration Tree Soul Ring that evolved his Blue Silver Grass and improved his talent. After returning to Harvest Village and moving to Vast Sea City, he began refining his Soul Power and developed Flash Step.

• Ye Lan awakened Blue Silver Grass with level-three Innate Soul Power, received a Nuoding Academy placement from Su Yuntao, and began cultivating and selling Candied Hawthorn Skewers to support himself.
• After years of training, Ye Lan challenged Tang San for the Seventh Dormitory leadership and defeated him, then later beat him again after Tang San returned with a Mandala Snake Soul Ring.
• Ye Lan reached Soul Power level 10, traveled with Su Yuntao to the Soul Hunting Forest, and helped kill a Striped Tiger before rejecting its Soul Ring skills.
• Ye Lan and Su Yuntao destroyed a Sun-Chasing Incineration Tree, and Ye Lan chose I Want to Grow Up from its Soul Ring, evolving his Blue Silver Grass and reaching Soul Master Rank 11.
• Ye Lan returned to Nuoding City, graduated, and tested his evolved vines against Xiao Wu before visiting Ma Xiunuo and declining an invitation to Spirit Hall Academy.
• Ye Lan visited Grandpa Tom in Harvest Village, then traveled to Vast Sea City and discovered that sunlight helped him perceive his meridians and refine his cultivation method.
• Ye Lan settled in a villa near the Great Soul Arena, trained his leg muscles, and created Flash Step, which he could use only five times a day because it strained his legs.

Ye Lan gained the Ancient Beast's Touch Soul Ring and External Soul Bone, then learned the truth about his parents and swore revenge on Tang Hao. In the Star Dou Great Forest, he befriended Zhu Zhuqing and agreed to help her cultivate.

• Ye Lan traveled to the Black Sea, killed an Ancient Beast's Touch, and chose Azure God Prophet as his second Soul Skill before absorbing its Soul Ring and gaining an External Soul Bone.
• Ye Lan returned to Vast Sea City, rescued Xiao Die and the Old Fisherman from Wang Gao and his companions, then arranged protection for them before leaving for Nuoding City.
• Ma Xiunuo confirmed Ye Lan had reached Level 23, and Su Yuntao revealed that Tang Hao had killed Ye Lan's parents.
• Bibi Dong added Ye Lan to Spirit Hall's observation list while Ye Lan entered the Star Dou Great Forest to train against powerful Soul Beasts.
• Ye Lan defeated and befriended a Bloodthirsty Demonic Bear he named Xiong Er, then fought a Diamond Tiger and healed it with Blue Silver Grass.
• Ye Lan rescued Zhu Zhuqing from Wind Spirit Wolves, treated her injuries, and shared a meal with her and his soul beasts.

Ye Lan trained Zhu Zhuqing and Ning Rongrong, defeated Tang San and Xiao Wu in the Great Soul Arena, and spread his Martial Soul theories with the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect’s help. His ideas gained attention across the continent while Tang San questioned them without recognizing why he had absorbed his unusual Soul Ring.

• Ye Lan taught Zhu Zhuqing to build speed through Soul Power control, trained her with Da Ju, and became her teacher after she completed the forest challenge.
• Ye Lan traveled to Suotuo City, defended Cui Hua from Ma Hongjun, and began competing in the Great Soul Arena as Green Emperor.
• Ye Lan defeated Tang San and Xiao Wu in a Two-on-Two Soul Fight, while Zhu Zhuqing and Ning Rongrong formed the Seven Treasures Spirit Cat team.
• After Dai Mubai and Oscar hurt and abandoned Ning Rongrong, Ye Lan comforted her and agreed to train her at the Great Soul Arena in exchange for the Nine Radiance Consecutive Star Ring.
• Ye Lan trained Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing in survival, Soul Power attachment, and team tactics, while they stayed in Suotuo City instead of joining the trip to the Star Dou Great Forest.
• Yu Xiaogang put the Shrek students through intensive training, but Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing followed Ye Lan’s methods, and Ye Lan sent Ning Rongrong his Martial Soul Core Competitiveness theory.

Ye Lan survived Zhao Wuji’s attempt to steal his Soul Bone, drew the attention of Spirit Hall and Qian Renxue, and joined Heaven Dou Royal Academy. The arc ended with him fighting Dugu Bo after Prince Xue Xing challenged him.

• Tang San and Zhao Wuji attacked Ye Lan to seize his Soul Bone, but Silver Wolf drove Zhao Wuji away and revealed that Bibi Dong had ordered him to protect Ye Lan.
• Ning Fengzhi offered Ye Lan a place in the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect and Ning Rongrong’s hand, but Ye Lan declined while agreeing to guide Ning Rongrong.
• Bibi Dong learned that Yu Xiaogang had copied Spirit Hall research, confronted her past with him, and ordered changes to Spirit Hall funding and Ye Lan’s protection.
• Qian Renxue, disguised as Xue Qinghe, befriended Ye Lan and invited him to join Heaven Dou Royal Academy to help its team compete against Martial Soul Hall Academy.
• Ye Lan defeated Xue Beng’s lackeys at the academy gates and was admitted after Xue Qinghe’s recommendation.
• During Zhi Lin’s Soul Pressure test, Ye Lan fused the Ancient Beast’s Touch into an External Soul Bone, and the Three Elders agreed to keep it secret.
• Xue Xing challenged Ye Lan to survive five minutes against Dugu Bo, and Ye Lan asked Dugu Bo to fight with his Soul Power limited to the Soul Elder tier.
• Ye Lan fought Dugu Bo in an open field, dodged his grasp, and landed a hook to his lower ribs before Dugu Bo warned that Ye Lan’s opening was exposed.
