Background / History

The original Xiao Miao was a sickly Xiao Family member whose parents died early. Xiao Han cared for him for nearly ten years, while Xiao Miao remained unable to cultivate because no medicine could cure his illness. The original Xiao Miao died of illness; the current Xiao Miao subsequently arrived through “rebirth through borrowing a body.” 122 127

After recovering, Xiao Miao conceals his changed identity by performing gratitude toward Xiao Han and others in the Xiao Family. His primary objective is to use the Qi Luck Plundering System to seize opportunities from Xiao Yan or Xiao Mei and convert their fortune into his own cultivation resources. 122

Zhong Li identifies him as an extraterrestrial demon who practices a fortune-plundering method. Zhong Li then informs Xiao Yan, prompting Xiao Yan to shadow Xiao Miao and take opportunities before he can claim them. 127 128

Xiao Miao is ambitious, calculating, and deeply preoccupied with changing his fate through power. He views Xiao Yan’s destined treasures, Xiao Mei’s luck, and even possible relationships as means toward advancement. 122 129 140

He is highly adaptive when confronted by superior strength. At the Unpredictable Dwelling, he immediately kneels before Zhong Li and Xiao Yan, invents an excuse for his behavior, and later rolls away after being ordered to leave. Privately, however, he nurses intense resentment and vows revenge. 136 138

Following the original Xiao Miao’s death, a transmigrator occupies his body, recovers from the illness, and begins planning to steal luck from Xiao Yan or Xiao Mei before the Xiao Family coming-of-age ceremony. Zhong Li learns of the system and begins watching him. 122

Xiao Family Marketplace

Seeking Blood Lotus Essence, Xiao Miao travels to Qingshan Town and confronts Zhong Li and Xiao Yan at the Myriad Medicine Pavilion. Brute Bull Battle and Cave Search

Xiao Miao assists Jiaojiao’s group against Brute Bulls and eventually survives the adult Brute Bull’s self-destruction. He then spends a month searching for a cave containing opportunities, only to arrive after Zhong Li and Xiao Yan have already collected its treasures. 141 143 144 145

Adoption of the Miao Xiao Identity

After being deceived and released by Zhong Li and Xiao Yan, Xiao Miao decides to seek an alchemist master and changes his name to Miao Xiao to avoid recognition by the Xiao Family. 146
