Background and History

Tang Hao had remained hidden for more than a decade before Tang San’s Twin Martial Souls—Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer—were publicly exposed. Observing from the shadows, Tang Hao reacts with killing intent toward those who learned his son’s secret. 11 13

He attacks Lan Minghua at Shrek Academy, but is decisively overwhelmed. Tang Hao activates Slaughter God’s Domain, manifests his Clear Sky True Body, and detonates a Hundred Thousand Year Soul Ring belonging to his wife in an attempt to survive. Lan Minghua destroys the Great Sumeru Hammer manifestation, damages Tang Hao’s Clear Sky Hammer, then severs Tang Hao’s right arm and left leg before Tang Hao escapes. 14 15

After several days of flight, the crippled Tang Hao collapses near the Star Dou Great Forest. His diminished strength falls to around that of a Soul Emperor, though his Titled Douluo combat instincts remain strong enough for him to kill several Ape Soul Beasts. When Lan Minghua finds him again, Tang Hao flees toward Yue Guan and Gui Mei, deliberately drawing their attacks toward Lan Minghua to create an escape opportunity. 23 30 31

Lan Minghua later strikes Tang Hao with a Holy Spear and assumes him dead. Tang Hao survives only by absorbing the Blue Silver Emperor Right Leg Bone, which provides limited regeneration and allows him to return to the Clear Sky Sect in critical condition. 32 48

His return causes a crisis within the Clear Sky Sect. The Seventh Elder and other disciples demand punishment, holding Tang Hao responsible for deaths connected to Spirit Hall’s retaliation against the sect. During his trial, Tang Hao falsely claims that he voluntarily severed his limbs to return the sect’s Soul Bones, then claims the bones were stolen by attackers on his way back. 47 51 52

With support from the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, Tang Hao accepts Tang San’s marriage alliance with Ning Rongrong and seeks resources to regain his strength. Once restored, he joins Tang Xiao, Gu Rong, Chen Xin, Yu Yuanzhen, Yue Guan, and Gui Mei against Lan Minghua and the Heavenly Dragon Gang. 53 90 114

Personality

Tang Hao is fiercely protective of Tang San and reacts violently when his son’s Twin Martial Souls are exposed. His first confrontation with Lan Minghua is driven by the perceived need to eliminate those aware of Tang San’s secret. 11 13 14

He is highly survival-driven and willing to use desperate measures. During his defeat, he detonates his wife’s Hundred Thousand Year Soul Ring; later, while weakened in the Star Dou Great Forest, he uses Yue Guan and Gui Mei as a diversion against Lan Minghua. 14 30 31

Tang Hao is also prideful and ambitious. Though humiliated and dependent on the Clear Sky Sect’s protection, he seeks to regain his peak strength and potentially contend for the position of Clear Sky Sect Master. 50 90 When facing the sect’s judgment, he attempts to sway sympathy through a fabricated account of his injuries and missing Soul Bones. 51 52
