Kirk shook his head. Just then, the doors to the Jedi Council chamber opened, and a Contractor who looked a lot like a seahorse came bobbing out. The octopus gathered around him.
Kirk overheard their conversation. Since they were in a world scenario, they were using universal translators, so the Contractors had no trouble communicating with one another.
"How did it go? What were they doing in there?"
"An apprentice test," the Seahorse Contractor replied. "They're testing whether we're qualified to become apprentices."
"What are they mainly looking at?"
"First, the number of midi-chlorians. Second, they ask you a few questions to see whether you can control your emotions and avoid feelings like love, hatred, jealousy, and fear. To be honest, I hate Earth scenarios. Why can't they use one of our Vanua Star scenarios, like the Great Tsunami or Underwater Volcano Eruption?"
"That's discrimination, but we'll show them what Contractors from the Vanua Star System can do. How about you?"
"Not bad. I only had 1,000, but I just barely passed."
Just as he'd guessed, this was an apprentice test. Kirk turned to Young Master Bai beside him. "What do you think?"
Young Master Bai was gazing out through the oval window at the rows of skyscrapers, the bustling streams of three-dimensional traffic, the flames of all kinds of spacecraft as they broke through the atmosphere, and the beautiful sunset in the distance.
No wonder Klosan Planet was the heart of the Galactic Republic. It was the political and cultural center of the entire galaxy. The whole planet was flourishing, the very essence of the Republic.
"Hm?" Young Master Bai smiled faintly. "If you're asking about the Main Plot, I'll tell you. This is a trial with no Main Plot or Main Mission. The moment the System sent us
