Take the two centaur chiefs from just now, for example. They thought they were leading their people straight toward the spear-throwing force, but in reality, Wang Han had quietly misled their sense of direction, nudging them slightly off course.
With every step, they veered about ten centimeters. For a centaur four meters long, ten centimeters was less than half a hoof's width.
But after a hundred steps, that became ten meters.
After charging five hundred steps, they were fifty meters off course.
Under Wang Han's illusion, visibility in the forest was now less than ten meters. Fifty meters was more than enough to send two charging forces stumbling past each other.
Of course, the centaurs shooting from the other side weren't from the Bloodhoof or Black Mane tribes. They were
another band of Evil Centaurs, drawn here for much the same reason as Magic Wind and Black Feather.
They, too, had been lured over by Kirk's team while the team remained in hiding.
Then came a duel of volleys, like borrowing arrows with straw boats.
Both sides thought the enemy was a group of damned native centaurs.
And the force attacking Black Feather and Magic Wind was still made up of Evil Centaurs!
The Evil Centaurs who had circled around them.
Wang Han dared to lay out this formation because Bloodhoof and Black Mane knew their cousins, the Evil Centaurs, all too well.
The Centaurs' advantage at range was so pronounced that, when faced with an unknown enemy, cautious shooting had become the default tactic of every Centaur chief!
But Wang Han was exploiting that very habit. If the Centaurs simply charged straight at one another, they would soon realize they'd been attacking their own.
At close range, even with Wang Han's Perception Misdirection, the two groups of Centaurs would
