Ashley cowered beside Kirk. Kirk's heart softened, and he swept the blonde beauty into his arms. Ashley didn't resist at all, curling up in his embrace like a kitten and listening to his heart pound. She immediately felt much safer.

Kirk's interest was instantly piqued. Ashley really was an undeniably beautiful young woman. There was no need to mention her classic American sweetheart face. She was only twenty, yet her chest had such impressive ballistics that even the late Luis had been astonished the first time he saw her. Now, Ashley's proudly displayed assets were swaying and brushing against Kirk's arm, making his thoughts wander.

Kirk was afraid her scream would draw the monster's attention. It had no eyesight and could only locate its prey by sound. If they didn't alert it, they could still launch a sneak attack. But if it heard them, the two of them would immediately be plunged into a fierce battle.
