The first half of the Grand Line.
Uchiha Mai and his group had finally traded their small boat for a large one. Akainu was led away in disgrace by several Marines, though their journey back would not necessarily be peaceful.
Marine warships had their own power and did not rely on sea winds, allowing them to cross the Calm Belt freely and take fewer detours than other ships.
With Seastone installed beneath the hull, they did not have to fear Sea Kings, which also reduced the trouble of sailing.
Now that they had switched to a small boat, returning to Marine Headquarters would be far more troublesome. The first half of the Grand Line required a Log Pose to guide the way.
Carrying the half-dead Akainu, they would have to rely on the Log Pose bit by bit along the way. Getting back to Marineford near the Sabaody Archipelago would still require overcoming quite a few difficulties.
Letting a Marine admiral experience the joys of sailing without a warship made Uchiha Mai feel like a great philanthropist.
If they happened to run into some enemy, the half-dead Akainu and his bunch of lackeys might be wiped out. That would depend on their luck.
Sprawled across a deck chair, Uchiha Mai no longer had to worry about getting lost at sea with the Marines handling navigation.
Although these newly recruited Akatsuki "temps" were always secretly discussing how to resist below deck, Uchiha Mai did not care. Even if they capsized the ship, he, Might Guy, and Shizune would be fine. The Marines, on the other hand, would be buried in the sea.
Judging by how they had not dared resist before, they probably were not the sort with such heroic resolve.
Anyone with real backbone had already died.
