Faced with an attack covering such a vast area, even after the Mist Butterfly Civilization's warships had exhausted their ability to make repeated short-range spatial jumps in quick succession, more than a thousand of them still failed to escape the three Star Destroyers' firing zone in time.
The Mist Butterfly Civilization's warships were thin-skinned only in comparison with the Star Destroyers of the Kindling Human Civilization.
They were still nowhere near fragile enough to be sunk by a single blast from a wide-area Star Destroyer Cannon.
Even so, that broad sweep of firepower inflicted considerable damage on the Mist Butterfly warships!
Most crucially, the four antimatter plasma wings surrounding each warship that was hit seemed to have been disabled when their generators were damaged. They could no longer spread those beautiful wings!
Those four wings were clearly essential to the Mist Butterfly warships' ability to make repeated short-range spatial jumps in quick succession.
The Mist Butterfly warships whose wings had been destroyed had clearly lost their extraordinary maneuverability.
They had not sunk outright, but they could no longer nimbly dodge the Kindling Human Civilization's Star Destroyers' fire as they had before!
In the battle that followed,

Using their wings, they swiftly withdrew from the battlefield and vanished into the depths of the nebula.
The Forward Base forces did not rashly pursue them.
Instead, they advanced steadily, completely destroyed the Mist Butterfly Civilization base, and left behind enough
