the Dark Peng entered stealth mode again.

The Dark Peng dutifully spent an hour making repairs.

It restored its energy shield to full durability, while Paul and the other damage-control crew members worked hard to contain the damage to the ship's structure.

And, most importantly, it waited for the cooldown on "Mirage Shadow's" active effect to end.

Then,

just as the Level 8 Giant Planetary Life thought the Dark Peng had either been sunk or banished to some distant corner of the stars,

and proudly issued its "declaration of victory,"

the Dark Peng appeared once more.

It greeted the creature with the orange streak of the "Longinus Energy Cannon"!

The Level 8 Giant Planetary Life let out a howl of "hallucination."

Of course, whether it really was a hallucination or not,

became clear when the orange streak once again treated its Defense System as if it weren't there,

and plunged straight into the depths of its core, making it feel that soul-deep agony once more.

The Level 8 Giant Planetary Life then realized with perfect clarity:

there was no way this could be a hallucination!

Somehow, the Dark Peng

If it had taken the attack head-on,
