Primordial Wilderness: I Am Hong Yun, and I Traded My Saint Position for a Wife at the Start, Part 29
For a moment, Xing Tian found it hard to accept.
Nearby, Hong Yun drew back his fist and held it before his eyes. A distinct white mark had appeared on his knuckles.
The mark slowly faded.
Hong Yun looked at Xing Tian, who seemed rather shaken, and felt a little worried.
What if I've ruined him before he's even stepped onto his own stage?
Shouldn't Xing Tian be rushing at me again right about now, eager to keep fighting?
He furrowed his brow slightly.
Clearly, Xing Tian hadn't yet evolved into the fully realized God of War.
He was only a somewhat combative, stubborn Great Shaman of the Witch Clan!
Ugh. Am I supposed to raise God of War Xing Tian from scratch now?
Hong Yun sighed inwardly, then took a few steps forward and stopped in front of the still-dejected Xing Tian.
Seeing how the once-spirited big man had ended up like this, Hong Yun wondered, Should I have gone back and forth with him a little?
Then pretended to win by a hair?
Hong Yun hurriedly shook the thought from his head. That would have been far too fake.
It would have been disrespectful to Xing Tian!
"Xing Tian, you don't need to be so downhearted. There's a gap between our cultivation levels to begin with."
"Though I don't focus on refining my body, my cultivation has still reached this level."
Xing Tian looked up and managed a weak smile at him. Hong Yun could only sigh.
It seemed he'd have to try a different approach!
Hong Yun put on a serious expression and addressed Xing Tian solemnly:
"When I trapped you the first time, did you feel helpless? As if you'd been completely cut off from the Power of Law between heaven and earth?"
Xing Tian nodded.
He gave a bitter smile. Why was Hong Yun bringing that up again?
He'd already been humiliated enough!
"But have you ever considered this? When Great God Pangu created the world in the chaos, all the Dao were hidden within it!"
"Did he have anything to draw upon?"
"Didn't he still create the Primordial Wilderness with the strength of his body?"
At the mention of Great God Pangu,
Xing Tian and the other members of the Witch Clan perked up their ears.
The corners of Hong Yun's mouth lifted slightly.
Now, surely I can get through to you.
Everyone knew how fervently the Witch Clan revered Great God Pangu.
So Hong Yun simply used Pan Gu's deeds as an example.
Sure enough, Xing Tian's gaze flickered.
He murmured:
"Father God is mighty!"
Hong Yun continued:
"From Great God Pangu's deeds, we can see two very important things. Do you know what they are?"
Xing Tian shook his head.
Even Zhurong shook his head!
The gathered members of the Witch Clan exchanged glances, and quiet discussion broke out among them.
Hong Yun hadn't expected them to figure it out anyway.
He simply carried on, since this whole spiel was just meant to lift Xing Tian's spirits.
He couldn't let this God of War, who hadn't even grown into his full potential, fall before his very eyes!
"First, the path of the body is powerful! It's no weaker than the path of law. Otherwise, how could Great God Pangu have created the world?"
"Second, your body isn't strong enough yet, which means there's still plenty of room to improve!"
"If you grow strong enough, you won't just be able to withstand my Power of Law. You'll be able to cleave apart even chaos!"
Xing Tian's heart jolted!
That was right!
He was about to say something, but Hong Yun continued speaking, so he immediately fell silent.
He'd made up his mind to listen carefully to everything this man had to say!
"Beyond that, the most important thing is this—how can you let one defeat keep you down?"
"Isn't the Witch Clan supposed to stand tall between heaven and earth, relying on your own strength?"
"Great God Pangu faced three thousand Chaos Demon Gods and still didn't back down!"
"What about you?"
Hong Yun's words made Xing Tian's face burn, but the light in his eyes grew brighter and brighter!
Hong Yun watched Xing Tian's eyes gleam.
"I'll leave you with one last piece of advice: when two opponents meet on a narrow path, the braver one wins!"
There really was something satisfying about guiding others.
No wonder everyone liked being a mentor or a boss. After all, there was no tax on bragging!
So this was what it felt like to enjoy teaching others.
If the occasion had been more appropriate, Hong Yun would have dragged Xing Tian aside and told him all about the "Draw Your Sword" spirit, then brought out his Italian cannon and blasted the hell out of them!
Of course, even though Hong Yun said all that to Xing Tian, he'd never do it himself.
He wasn't the God of War!
Hong Yun believed it was better to preserve the green hills and save the firewood for later!
He suppressed his desire to keep playing the sage, guiding Xing Tian with words of wisdom.
Hong Yun smiled at him!
The light in Xing Tian's eyes grew more and more intense.
He kept murmuring Hong Yun's words:
"When two opponents meet on a narrow path, the braver one wins..."
"A narrow path..."
"Brave..."
The next moment, his fighting spirit erupted once more!
His battle intent condensed until it seemed almost tangible, transforming into strands of white light!
Hong Yun couldn't help but look on in amazement!
It was even more intense than before.
Zhurong's eyes lit up!
Had Hong Yun's few words actually helped Xing Tian break through in his state of mind?
Seeing that Xing Tian had come to his senses, his gaze clear,
Zhurong slapped him hard on the back.
"Smack!"
Zhurong laughed and chided him:
"You fool, hurry up and thank Fellow Daoist Hong Yun!"
By now, Xing Tian had completely put the past behind him and instead felt deep respect for Hong Yun.
Those words alone would give him enough to mull over for years!
Still, for a moment, Xing Tian hesitated.
Until now, he'd always referred to Hong Yun as "that person" or "that man."
