"Huh? Ino? What are you doing here?"
Chie Mai, lying in the hospital bed, was quite surprised to see Ino walk in holding flowers.
She and Ino didn't have much interaction, just a normal classmate relationship.
Ino smiled faintly and said, "I heard you were injured and hospitalized. I was passing by, so I came to see how you were doing."
As she spoke, she arranged a bouquet of flowers on the windowsill and added, "Didn't they just assign classes today? You haven't officially started any missions yet, have you? How did you end up like this?"
"Don't even mention it!" Chie Mai said dejectedly, without thinking much. "The Teacher assigned to us is a lunatic. He doesn't want us to become Ninja at all. He called it a practical combat assessment, but he went all out on us."
"We just graduated from the Ninja Academy, how could we possibly be a match for a Jonin!!"
A subtle, dark glint flashed in Chie Mai's eyes. Seeing Ino like this, her journey to becoming a Ninja must have been quite smooth, which stirred jealousy and resentment in her heart.
"A Jonin Teacher went all out on you?" Ino was slightly taken aback.
Didn't they say Mo Chen's abilities went berserk and affected others, draining their Chakra?
However, after a moment's thought, Ino understood. Chie Mai must have been afraid to speak the truth and pushing the blame onto the Jonin leading the team was the most logical thing to do.
At this moment, Ino also realized that with Mo Chen and his two teammates in such a mess, they definitely couldn't continue as a team.
In that case, could Mo Chen still become a Ninja smoothly?
"Who knows what he's thinking!" Chie Mai snorted. "If he didn't want to lead the team, he shouldn't have taken charge of our group. But after taking charge, he deliberately made sure we wouldn't pass. It feels like he's a psycho!"
"Alright, it's already happened, and thinking about it more won't help," Ino comforted gently. "Even if you're eliminated, it doesn't mean you have to repeat your studies at the Ninja Academy. As long as you retake the course for a period and get the Teacher's approval, you'll be assigned to a team again soon."
"But the most important thing for you right now is to recover your health so you can catch up as quickly as possible."
Students who are sent back to retake courses have their reasons for elimination reported back by the Jonin leading their team.
As long as they correct their shortcomings and compensate for their deficiencies, and then gain the school Teacher's approval, they can quickly become official Genin.
However, such 'makeup students' do not have a dedicated Jonin Teacher.
Even if they are assigned to a powerful Captain, that person is merely a Captain, and the relationship is a temporary superior-subordinate one.
This was not something Ino needed to worry about. She feigned comfort towards Chie Mai and, while the latter wasn't paying attention, added something to her IV drip bag.
Outside, under the windowsill, Shikamaru and Choji were hiding and witnessed Ino's small action.
Choji showed an expression of "I knew it." Ino was indeed here to cause trouble. He just didn't know what she had added to Chie Mai's IV drip.
"It looks like some kind of flower juice!" Shikamaru deduced. "Ino wouldn't do anything too extreme. It should at most contain some mild toxins, like causing numbness, pain, itching, or hallucinations."
"If it's just that, the effect probably won't be that great?" Choji couldn't quite understand Ino's intentions.
Would a lesson like this make Chie Mai change her personality?
Even someone as naive as Choji didn't think it was possible.
"Maybe she just wants to vent her anger!" Shikamaru didn't fully understand either, but that didn't stop him from siding with Ino.
Shikamaru thought for a moment and said, "If she used the same method against both Chie Mai and Ryota, Ino would be exposed very quickly. While she might not face severe punishment, harming her fellow villagers for no reason isn't exactly a good look."
"I don't acknowledge them as companions!" Choji retorted directly.
"Ah, of course, I don't either!" Shikamaru smiled, then pulled Choji towards the next hospital room, saying in a low voice, "So we have to help Ino out. If anything happens, our Team 10 will take the fall together!"
Ino chatted with Chie Mai for a while. After a display of insincere concern, she left.
However, as soon as she left the hospital room, she noticed quite a commotion in the adjacent room. A crowd had gathered at the doorway, all excitedly discussing something.
"What happened?" Ino walked over, puzzled.
If she remembered correctly, the person in the next room was Ryota, another one of her targets.
"The young man staying in there might have gone mad. He actually jumped on the bed and started urinating, and no one could stop him." A nurse, unable to contain her desire to gossip, blurted it out as soon as Ino asked, without even looking at who she was.
Urinating on the bed?
Ino's face was filled with astonishment. She instinctively looked into the hospital room through a gap in the crowd.
However, she could only see half of Ryota's back and a small stream of liquid falling onto the bed.
Inside the room, two nurses were trying to pull Ryota back to stop him, but they couldn't budge him at all.
Moreover, they were worried about getting splashed, so they didn't dare to get too close, naturally, they couldn't exert much force.
Just as Ino looked over, Ryota's body twitched a few times, and the stream of liquid also stopped.
"What the hell! That's disgusting!" Ino's face instantly darkened.
She had originally planned to add something to Ryota's IV drip, but now it seemed completely unnecessary.
Just looking at it made her feel sick. She'd rather go home and wash her eyes.
Just as Ino turned to leave, she caught a glimpse of a dark shadow by the windowsill quickly retracting.
Simultaneously, Ryota collapsed onto the bed, landing in the puddle of liquid.
"Ah!!!"
"How could this happen! I didn't do this!"
"Listen to me, my body went out of control just now, I don't know what happened!!"
Ryota's screams echoed from the hospital room. He tried to jump out of the hospital bed, but he was still receiving an IV drip, and the two nurses who had entered held him down on the bed, not letting him move.
The nurses softly soothed him, while the onlookers outside the room whispered with disdain.
But none of this mattered to Ino. Ino immediately rushed out of the inpatient area and circled around to the back.
As expected, she saw Shikamaru hiding in the bushes outside the window of Ryota's room.
Choji stood in front of him, using his large body to shield Shikamaru.
"It really was you guys!" Ino said, not approaching, keeping her distance. Her face showed disgust.
"Shikamaru, are you done? Ino found us," Choji said nonchalantly, continuing to eat his potato chips.
Shikamaru finished tying his pants and walked out of the bushes, a mischievous grin on his face from having just pulled off a prank.
Just now, he had used the Shadow Imitation Technique, extending his shadow through the window to control Ryota's body.
Ryota had soiled himself on the bed, a truly mortifying experience.
He had hidden behind the bushes, with Choji blocking the view. Even if someone had seen him, they would have at most called him inconsiderate.
"Why did you do something so unnecessary!" Ino immediately understood what had happened.
While she expressed her dissatisfaction verbally, she was actually quite happy inwardly.
Having such thoughtful teammates was indeed much better than dealing with Sasuke's cold, poker face.
Shikamaru and Choji just grinned, not saying anything to claim credit.
This was because both of them had been annoyed with Ryota and Chie Mai.
"Alright, let's go to the dessert shop, my treat!" Ino genuinely accepted these two teammates at this moment.
Before they left, they heard Ryota's screams from the hospital room, and chaotic sounds also came from Chie Mai's room.
They could even faintly hear Chie Mai singing foolishly—
"I'm gonna fly~ up to the sky~ up to the sky~!"
