"Do we have any backup?"
The leader of the rogue ninja looked up at the figure atop the Earth-Style Wall. His expression darkened as he said, "Konoha's Anbu? Your village really goes all out. You send a few kids on a mission, and you even assign Anbu to protect them."
"Looks like these kids aren't ordinary, after all. No wonder they managed to beat my crew into this state!"
Anbu?
The four kids were all stunned. Anbu had been protecting them?
Among them, Kiba had been the first to pass out. Choji had fainted while protecting Shikamaru, and Ino had also been knocked unconscious by the head-on impact.
What was surprising, though, was that Ino's consciousness had appeared in the Chat Group despite her being unconscious. Through the livestream Hinata had started, she could see what was happening in the real world.
"That's..." Hinata had kept her Byakugan activated. She glanced over instinctively, then exclaimed with delight, "Mo Chen-kun! That's Mo Chen-kun!"
Mo Chen?
Shino and Shikamaru were both surprised.
Their former classmate? When had he joined Anbu?
And he was so strong that he'd stopped the rogue ninja leader's attack head-on with his own ninjutsu.
Shikamaru knew Mo Chen's strength had gone out of control during the Genin exam, so he'd had some suspicions. Shino, on the other hand, was completely bewildered.
[Ino Yamanaka: Mo Chen's here? Aaaaah! Why did I have to pass out now?! What a perfect scene for the hero to save the damsel in distress, and I missed it!]
[Sakura Haruno: Wasn't Mo Chen saving Shino? What's that got to do with you?]
[Ino Yamanaka: If I'd been awake, he'd have been my great hero, soaring in to save me on a rainbow cloud!]
[Tenten: I can't believe Mo Chen went to protect you guys.
