Chapter Twenty-Two: God!

"Activate," Yu thought.

The next second, the sixteen Chakra Hearts hidden inside his body activated all at once. Immediately, the Chakra within Yu began to grow at a frantic pace.

Genin—Chunin—Jonin... In just a few seconds, the amount of Chakra inside Yu had reached a terrifying level, and it was still climbing.

"This...!"

Sasuke was completely stunned this time. It was even more shocking than what Red Cat had shown him before. This was beyond anything he could have imagined.

After a dozen seconds, Sasuke didn't even need to activate his Sharingan. The Chakra spilling out of Yu had already become a tangible presence.

Yu now looked as if he were shrouded in a blazing blue flame.

"God!"

Looking at Yu in that state, the word suddenly appeared in Sasuke's mind.

Sasuke couldn't think of any word other than "god" to describe Yu's appearance.

"Sixteen Chakra Hearts are seriously amazing," Yu said with a grin. This was his first time trying out so many Chakra Hearts, and the results were about what he'd expected.

He could now reach a state of "infinite Chakra." Whenever he used a jutsu, his Chakra would replenish in an instant. He was generating Chakra far faster than he could use it.

After keeping it up for half a minute, Yu stopped the Chakra Hearts. Once the Chakra stopped circulating, the amount inside him began to slowly decrease.

But in about twenty minutes, it would return to its original level.

It was like filling a bucket with water. The bucket was only so big, but a sudden rush of water could make it seem like a waterfall. Once the flow stopped, though, the bucket would still hold only its original capacity.

But that wasn't a problem for Yu at all. The sixteen Chakra Hearts were part of his body, so it didn't matter how much they held. As long as the output was high, that was all that mattered.

"What exactly is going on?" Sasuke couldn't help asking, his face full of questions.

"It's too complicated to explain right now. Just think of it as a 'jutsu' I came up with," Yu said.

"Then your 'jutsu' is incredibly powerful. It's practically like [God]. That amount of Chakra is unbelievable," Sasuke exclaimed.

"It's powerful, but it still has a weakness. I can't keep it up for too long, or my body won't be able to take it," Yu said, raising his bare hand so Sasuke could see.

Yu's hand was covered in streaks of blood, a horrifying sight, as if his body were about to split apart.

Seeing it, Sasuke hurried over and carefully cradled Yu's hand in his own. The powerful vision granted by his Sharingan let him clearly see that each blood-red streak was a crack.

"This jutsu is too dangerous. How could you use it so casually?" Sasuke said anxiously, his face filled with worry.

Sasuke had forgotten everything else. His mind was entirely consumed by Yu's injuries. They were beyond anything he could treat. Through his Sharingan, he could clearly see that Yu's entire arm had cracked open.

He didn't even dare squeeze, afraid he might break Yu apart.

There were similar blood-red streaks on Yu's face, too. Sasuke's heart was breaking. His only family was standing on the brink of death.

"Stay here and don't move. I'll go find someone right away." Sasuke was still clearheaded enough to know Yu couldn't move.

Yu's injuries would have been fatal for anyone else. He might have turned into a pile of scraps the very next second.

Seeing how worried Sasuke was, Yu felt warm inside. At the same time, he stopped Sasuke from going to find someone to save him.

"Big Brother Sasuke, my injuries aren't serious. They'll heal on their own in a little while," Yu said. He deliberately controlled his body's healing ability, spending energy to make it work several times faster.

The blood-red streaks on Yu's body began to fade rapidly. In about a minute, he had recovered completely.

"See? It's fine now," Yu told Sasuke.

After seeing the blood-red streaks disappear with his own eyes, Sasuke had no choice but to believe him.

"Yu, tell me honestly. Does this jutsu actually harm you?" Sasuke asked, his expression very serious.

"For anyone else, this jutsu would be suicide. But it doesn't hurt me at all. And once I finish my other project, even this weakness will be gone," Yu said.

Sasuke watched Yu for a moment before saying, "I believe you, but promise me you won't put yourself in danger."

Yu nodded.

"Don't worry, Big Brother Sasuke. I care a lot about staying alive."

Next, Yu gave Sasuke a detailed tour of the entire laboratory.

"One of my dreams is to find a beautiful place with lush green hills and clear waters, raise thousands upon thousands of slimes, and build a huge, amazing laboratory..." Yu rambled on, telling Sasuke about his dreams. He had so many of them. Anything he wanted could count as a dream.

After Yu had finished talking, he suddenly asked Sasuke, "Big Brother Sasuke, what's your dream?"

The question left Sasuke standing there in a daze. He didn't know how to answer. The biggest thing on his mind right now was avenging his parents and clan by killing his older brother.

But Sasuke didn't know if that counted as a dream.

Yu reached out and fed the glass tank's slimes some fruit that he'd cut into small pieces. He had once considered whether he should tell Sasuke the truth, but in the end, he had decided not to.

He understood, to some extent, the place Uchiha Itachi held in Sasuke's heart. It wouldn't be right for him to reveal the truth, whether Sasuke believed him or not.

The truth was the truth. Whatever the reason, Uchiha Itachi was the one responsible for the destruction of the Uchiha clan.

Uchiha Itachi had betrayed the Uchiha clan, betrayed his parents, and betrayed his little brother, who had always looked up to him and loved him dearly.

Perhaps Uchiha Itachi had a reason he felt compelled to do it. But to any Uchiha clan member, Uchiha Itachi was a traitor and a butcher who had slaughtered his own family.

Uchiha Itachi had simply made his own choice, choosing what he believed was the best course of action.

Yu had liked Itachi, too, in his previous life. He had liked Itachi's immense strength, his peerless good looks, and his love for his little brother...

But he could never accept Uchiha Itachi's actions. Was there really no other choice but to wipe out the Uchiha clan? Perhaps no one had even tried to think of another way.

What's more, Yu was now a member of the Uchiha clan. He had personally lived through that night of despair, pain, and terror. So Uchiha Itachi would never earn his "forgiveness," no matter what reason he had for doing it.

That was why he wouldn't impose his own wishes on Sasuke. He would leave Sasuke to find the truth for himself and wouldn't interfere.

"Big Brother Sasuke, your dream must be very hard to achieve, but I believe you'll make it come true," Yu said, turning to look at Sasuke.

After standing there in a daze for a moment, Sasuke nodded firmly. He would definitely make his dream come true.
