Background / History

Sasuke was eight years old when the Uchiha clan was exterminated. Terrified and trying to return home, he encountered the wounded Yu Uchiha, who begged him for help. Sasuke chose to carry Yu out of the compound rather than continue home, assuming responsibility for another survivor despite his own fear 2 3.

He later met Itachi, who forced him to experience the massacre through Tsukuyomi. Itachi framed the slaughter as a pursuit of power, ordered Sasuke to hate him and become stronger, and left him with revenge as his defining goal 3.
