Sylvanas watched Deren spout nonsense with a perfectly straight face, and the corner of her mouth twitched.
After considering it, she said, "Why not let us Elf Rangers handle it? We elves are enemies with the Orcs anyway. If Great Chieftain Thrall wants to hold a grudge, he can't blame it on you."
Deren gave Sylvanas a long look. He had not expected her to assess the current situation from a political angle. Then he glanced at Jaina. The female mage nodded, meaning that he could decide as he saw fit.
Deren scratched his hair and looked at the eager-to-fight Windrunners with a headache. "You really want to kill Orcs?"
"It is suppressing an Orc riot," Sylvanas corrected. "That is the responsibility of our Ranger Guard."
"Yes, yes, yes!" How could Deren fail to see what she was thinking? She wanted to use the Orc unrest as an excuse to kill a few more of them. He gave an order to one of the mages behind him. The mage swiftly teleported away with several companions.
Not long afterward, the group teleported back. At the same time, two large wooden crates appeared at the scene.
"Come here. Let me show you something good!" Deren led Sylvanas over to the crates and gestured. The mage from earlier immediately used magic to open their lids.
Inside, numerous Wooden-handled Black Iron Lumps were stacked neatly, each iron lump etched with grooves of varying lengths.
"This is the first batch of Experimental Grenades. How about letting your Rangers be the first to try them out?" Deren said with a smile.
"Grenades?" Sylvanas looked at the strange objects with their peculiar wooden handles in confusion. Their long, smooth handles gave her some rather unpleasant associations, and her cheeks flushed slightly.
