The night sky of Eversong Woods was red with flames of war, and the main force of the coalition forces was fighting fiercely with the remaining troops of Scourge. The roar of magic and steel could be heard even dozens of miles away.
Quel'Danas Island in the north is extremely quiet, with only sporadic Undead wandering among the dilapidated buildings.
"Hurry up." Deren lay on Onyxia's back, and the strong wind tore his voice into pieces, "It must be completed before dawn."
Jaina·Proudmoore grasped the dragon scale tightly, the tip of the staff already lit up with a faint light ready to cast a spell.
"Three two. One landing!"
Black Dragon Princess dived, and its sharp claws instantly tore apart the two wandering Ghoul. Jaina quickly unfolded the barrier, and the light blue magic barrier enveloped the entire Sunwell Plateau like a dome.
"Undead It's less than expected." Deren looked around warily, the long-handled battle ax in his hand reflecting the moonlight, "It went so well."
"Because the main force of Undead is in the south to deal with the coalition forces." Chromie suddenly emerged from Time Rift. The Gnome disguised by Bronze Dragon looked extremely serious. The pocket watch in her hand flashed a dangerous red light, "But I sense that Timeline is fluctuating violently. We must be quick."
Deren has rushed towards Sunwell. The once bright energy pool is now only a pool of foul-smelling dark green liquid, with strange foam and unknown skeletons floating on the surface.
"That's disgusting." Onyxia flicked his tail in disgust, a trace of uneasiness flashed in his eyes, "Are you sure you can find something valuable in here?" She looked around to cover Deren's actions.
Deren did not answer, but took out the rune given by Azeroth. The blue lines were hot in his palm, as if pulsating with life. Following an ancient mantra, the rune flowed into the dirty well water.
In an instant, the entire Sunwell Plateau was as bright as day. The water in the well churned violently, and a pure golden light pillar rose into the sky, but was firmly blocked by Jaina's barrier. In the light, a curled up figure slowly emerged from the water - the blond Sunwell girl Anveena, floating in the center of the energy vortex, with sun-like brilliance flowing under her skin.
"Catch her!" Deren took off his cloak and jumped into the well. The moment he touched the girl, Sunwell's remaining energy disappeared like an ebbing tide, leaving only a shallow layer of sewage and a few dim crystal fragments at the bottom of the well.
"Let's go!" Deren wrapped the unconscious Anveena in his cloak, and the group quickly climbed onto the dragon's back. When Onyxia fluttered its wings, Chromie snapped his fingers, and Bronze Dragon's Time Magic wiped away all traces, as if no one had ever been there.
Silvermoon City In the morning sun, Sun King stepped through the broken city gate. Wherever the scepter passed, the Undead wreckage turned into ashes. With tears in their eyes, High Elf people knelt down on both sides of the street and shouted "Long live Sunstrider".
"Behold, my people." Anasterian whispered to the senior officials and favored ministers surrounding him, with a smile of victory on his face, "They are still loyal."
At the same moment, the vanguard led by Kael'thas easily cleared away the remaining Undead on Quel'Danas Island. The prince rushed towards Sunwell Plateau impatiently, his blond hair fluttering like flames in the morning wind.
"Sunwell Our hope." Kael'thas gasped and broke through the last obstacle, then froze in place.
At the bottom of the dry well, there is only a layer of rancid green slime. There is no surging energy, no hope of curing Mana Addiction, and there is not even the faintest magic wave.
"No, it's impossible." The prince's voice trembled. He knelt in the well and inserted his long fingers into the sewage, as if he could regain his lost strength. The sewage flowed down his wrist, leaving disgusting traces on the silver armor.
The accompanying elf mages looked at each other with despair in their eyes. An elderly Archmage burst into tears. "It's Undead who have completely defiled Sunwell."
Kael'thas suddenly stood up, the pain in his eyes turning into cold anger. He turned to the adjutant, his voice low and dangerous. "Go to Silvermoon City," he ordered, "Tell my father. Sunwell. no longer exists."
When the adjutant left in a hurry, Kael'thas once again looked at the bottom of the well where the energy had dried up.
From an angle that no one could see, a strange smile appeared on the corner of the prince's mouth. He whispered to himself in a voice that only he could hear, "Father, how are you going to face such a situation? Despair, pain. Without Sunwell, how long can that throne be maintained?"
In Silvermoon City, more than three thousand High Elf survivors gathered in front of the Royal Palace Square, looking up at their Sun King. once prosperous capital city. Now there are only ruins left, and the broken crystal dome reflects the incomplete sunlight, but Anasterian·Sunstrider stands on the high platform, with her long golden hair flying in the wind, as if nothing has changed.
"People of Quel'dorei!" His voice echoed in the empty streets, with unquestionable majesty, "Today, we recaptured Silvermoon City! Today, we declare to the world - Quel'Thalas will last forever!"
The elves cheered, tears sliding down their pale cheeks. They needed such a victory so much - the massacre of Scourge, the destruction of their homes, and the loss of their loved ones made them almost collapse. But now, Sun King is back, Silvermoon City is back, and they seem to have returned to that glorious era.
At this moment, a travel-worn messenger rushed up to the high platform, knelt down on one knee, and said in a trembling voice, "Your Majesty...Quel'Danas Island has sent news...Sunwell..."
Anasterian's smile froze, and he stopped the messenger's next words. Then he stepped onto Quel'Danas Island himself.
When he stood in front of Sunwell Plateau, looking at the dry and putrid bottom of the pool, his fingers trembled slightly.
"Impossible..." His voice was low, as if squeezed out from between his teeth, "How could Sunwell's energy... be completely lost?"
Kael'thas stood behind him and replied calmly, "Undead has defiled it, father. Perhaps... its essence has long since dissipated."
Anasterian turned around suddenly, a trace of rage flashed in his eyes. "No! Sunwell is eternal! It can't be like this--"
His voice stopped suddenly.
Because if Sunwell really disappears, then High Elf's dream of rejuvenating the country will also be completely shattered.
Without Sunwell, they cannot maintain the magic barrier, cannot heal the Mana Addiction of their people, or even maintain the lifespan of High Elf.
They... will slowly weaken until they wither away.
He whispered to Kael'thas, "Stop the news." He ordered coldly, "Proclaim to the outside world that Sunwell has been restored and Quel'Thalas is being rebuilt."
The prince frowned. "Father, Alliance will ask to share Sunwell's energy. We can't keep hiding it--"
"Then delay!" Anasterian interrupted sharply, "Tell them that Sunwell needs time to stabilize!"
Kael'thas nodded quietly, with a trace of sarcasm flashing in his eyes.
His father, the once proud Sun King, now relies on lies to maintain the illusion of the kingdom. It's really... sad. Maybe High Elf has been living in lies and illusions. But now it's time to wake up from the dream!
Sun King stood by the well blankly, muttering to himself, "No matter what, Sunwell must exist."
