Almost within a few minutes, the door of the reception room was pushed open. Deren's heart sank to the bottom of his heart - Sylvanas·Windrunner stood at the door, his silver armor shining in the sun, and his sharp eyes swept over everyone in the room.
"Deren," Ranger General's voice was as precise as her arrows, "I heard that you are back from 'vacation'?"
"Where did you get the news?" Black Dragon immediately expressed dissatisfaction, "Why is it like, we just got home and you came?"
"I sent people to keep an eye on the City Hall. As long as their people send things here, I will know that you are back." Sylvanas didn't hide it either.
"Cunning long ears!" Onyxia also had to admire Ranger General's shrewdness. He turned to Deren and said sweetly, "My dear, your female elf friend is looking for you."
Deren felt four eyes piercing his back at the same time - Onyxia's burning heat, Jaina's vigilance, and the two Princess's unconcealable nervousness. He forced himself to smile, "Ms. Sylvanas, what kind of wind brings you here?"
"The wind from the east," Sylvanas walked into the room slowly, each step as graceful and dangerous as a feline, with a peculiar charm. Her eyes fell on Jaina and Anveena, "Why don't you introduce your companions?"
Onyxia took a step forward, the black skirt swaying like waves. "This is my home, my territory. You broke in without notification and yelled. Do you need me to teach you etiquette?"
Sylvanas's ears pressed back slightly, which was a familiar displeasure signal from Deren: "I'm just concerned about the safety of Mr. Deren. There should be an explanation for him leaving Theramore for so long."
The temperature in the room seemed to rise suddenly. Deren knew that he had to control the situation immediately. "As you said, I just went on a vacation. These two are relatives of Jaina, Miss Liya and Miss Anna."
"Really?" Sylvanas raised an eyebrow, "It's really rare. Why don't they live at Jaina's place?" She saw the bed being made downstairs.
Jaina intervened in a timely manner. "Liya and Anna are both my distant relatives. They came to me recently because of family changes. You also know that I have a lot of things to do here. Her safety can only be entrusted to Deren and Onyxia."
Sylvanas's gaze roamed over everyone's face, and Deren could feel her hunter-like intuition working. Finally, she nodded slightly. "I see. So, welcome to Theramore, 'Misses Proudmoore'."
She particularly emphasized her last name. Deren knew that this was not a good sign and wondered if she had discovered anything. But Ranger General did not ask any further questions.
"Since Mr. Deren has returned safely," Sylvanas turned and walked towards the door, "I won't disturb this warm family gathering." At the door, she paused, "Oh, by the way, Vereesa has been talking about Deren's delicious food recently. She will definitely be happy to meet new friends."
After the door was closed, the air in the room seemed to flow again. Deren took a long breath and found that his back was soaked.
"Is she suspicious?" Jaina whispered.
Onyxia sneered, "That long-eared female wolf has never known how to respect other people's privacy. But she should remember that she owes Deren a favor."
"We must keep the same tone." Deren rubbed his temples, "Although Sylvanas is trustworthy, there are some things that it is best not to let her know."
Jaina looked at him worriedly. "Will we cause trouble?"
Deren shook his head. "Don't worry, Theramore No one here can cause me trouble yet, even if there are only a few headaches in this world." Install some coins first.
Anveena suddenly said, "That elf sister's eyes are so beautiful, like gems. But she looks so fierce."
It's over, Sunwell and High Elf have developed feelings for each other. Deren has a splitting headache!
"Anna," Deren squatted down and looked at her seriously, "From now on, you'd better be with Oni or me at all times. Especially when you see that 'Elven Sister', try not to talk, do you understand?"
Anveena nodded, with a hint of depth in his eyes that did not match his age. "Will she give me to those bad people?"
The room fell into silence. Deren finally said softly to Anveena: "She is not a bad person, but she may let bad people know your existence. So try not to let her discover your secret."
Onyxia suddenly took Deren's hand. "Come with me, we need to talk." She turned to Jaina, "Can you please take care of these two?"
Jaina nodded. "Of course. I'm going to take them to see the room."
Deren allowed Onyxia to pull him to a secluded balcony. Theramore's sea breeze was stronger than Pandaria's, carrying the smell of salty and magical energy.
"You can't hide it for too long," Onyxia looked directly into his eyes, "Sylvanas is not a fool, he can always find some clues."
"I know," Deren sighed, "But I can't hide her in the wilderness forever, away from human society. Although it is a bit risky, there is no need to worry too much. After all, I have the ownership of Sunwell for thirty years. I am just a little worried that the blue-haired boy will come to cause trouble."
Onyxia's expression softened a little. "You are always like this, always thinking ahead about everything." She reached out and stroked Deren's cheek, "Think about the days when we did Fertilizer in the swamp together."
Deren held her hand. "You also protected me when I was in my most difficult time!"
Onyxia chuckled, but soon became serious again. "Listen, my father Deathwing seems to be unsatisfied with recuperating in his hometown, and sent his subordinate Twilight Cultists to cause trouble. My stupid brother also received his order to deal with me, but he sent the news to me, who is also a shareholder."
"We will be careful." Deren promised, "When I'm done with this period of work, I will let those cultists taste what it's like to be broke and beg for food."
Onyxia shook her head. "Don't underestimate them, dear." A dragon-like light flashed in her eyes, "There is also the matter of long ears. Do you want to send a courier at night to destroy Sun King?"
Deren felt nervous. "Don't do anything Recklessness. I have been planning to deal with them for a long time, and everything is under control."
"Plan?" Onyxia raised an eyebrow, "Just like you did just now, using clumsy lies to prevaricate an experienced Ranger General?"
Deren smiled bitterly, "At least the superficial relationship has been maintained. Sylvanas's position is actually very subtle. She should be able to figure out what she wants to do. As for Sun King, I have already made arrangements."
Onyxia suddenly pulled him close, her red lips almost touching his ears. "Remember, dear. If the situation is critical, I will solve the problem in my own way. Whether you like it or not."
Deren didn't answer, but hugged her tightly. Under the sunset of Theramore, the two figures hugged each other on the balcony.
