Leiluo racked his brains but could not figure it out, so he simply stopped thinking about it. How could he have known that the reason the Moknasa Clan seemed familiar was because its Chieftain, Leolox, had a famously renowned son—the Beastlord Rexxar!
"Greetings, fellow orcs. I am Leiluo, Chieftain of the Pebble Clan. We did not mean to enter your territory. We only recently migrated here and are unfamiliar with the surrounding area. Please forgive us." Leiluo knew that, aside from trade gatherings, there was rarely any interaction between orcs unless the two clans were especially close.
Although the other side would not attack them simply for entering their territory, Leiluo still explained himself to avoid any unnecessary misunderstandings.
"It's no big deal. Since you're new neighbors, would you be willing to visit our clan?" Leolox asked.
"Thank you for your generosity. Of course." Leiluo also wanted to take a look at this clan that felt so familiar to him. Perhaps it had something to do with the future main storyline involving the Dark Portal.
Thus, Leiluo and his group followed Leolox and the others to a canyon filled with towering jagged rocks.
"Welcome to Blade's Edge Mountain!" Having arrived, Leolox excitedly introduced the place to Leiluo and the others. "This is where our Moknasa Clan lives."
Afterward, Leiluo's group received a warm welcome, and Leolox hosted a banquet for them. Leiluo took the opportunity to ask Leolox about Blade's Edge Mountain.
Listening to Leolox, Leiluo finally learned what sort of place the Pebble Clan actually lived in.
It turned out that Bandar City was also within the territory of Blade's Edge Mountain. The Moknasa Clan merely occupied one valley of Blade's Edge Mountain, just like his own clan.
Blade's Edge Mountain was a range of perilous peaks crowded with jagged stone. Weathering had shaped the rocks into sharp cones, like countless blades thrusting out from the mountainside, and that was how Blade's Edge Mountain got its name.
Blade's Edge Mountain lay between Frostfire Ridge and Gor'dron. Leolox explained that the clans occupying Frostfire Ridge and Gor'dron were the Frostwolf Clan and the Blackrock Clan respectively. Both were immensely powerful clans with over ten thousand warriors.
Leiluo had initially been shocked only by the strength of those two clans, but when Leolox mentioned two familiar names, he was utterly floored. They were Durotan, Chieftain of the Frostwolf Clan, and Blackhand, Chieftain of the Blackrock Clan.
Leolox said that it was precisely because Frostfire Ridge and Gor'dron held these two powerful clans that Blade's Edge Mountain had become extraordinarily chaotic. Gorons, Ogres, and Arakkoa all lived here, making life difficult for the orcs of this region.
"Brother Leiluo, you said that your Pebble Clan also has over a thousand members. Why don't the Pebble Clan and our Moknasa Clan form an alliance?" Leolox asked, emboldened by drink.
Hearing Leolox's words, Leiluo felt a little awkward. After all, he knew his own situation best—without the new clan members, how could his clan possibly have over a thousand people?
But Leiluo did not point that out. New clan members were still clan members, after all. Secretly delighted, he said, "Leolox, hearing your account has made me understand the plight of our orcs. The Pebble Clan is willing to ally with the Moknasa Clan and become brother clans, so that our orcs may have a better living environment in Blade's Edge Mountain."
"Brother Leiluo, I admire your bearing. I... I need to tell you something." Seeing how forthright Leiluo was, Leolox seemed somewhat embarrassed. "We are not pure-blooded orcs. Every member of the Moknasa Clan is of mixed orc and Ogre blood."
Mentioning his bloodline made Leolox uncomfortable. "That is why the Ogres of Blade's Edge Mountain always attack us. In their eyes, we are a pack of mongrels."
"Though the orcs have not made it so obvious, I have sought aid from Blackhand and the Frostwolf Clan countless times, yet they all refused. So I..." At this point, Leolox, the Chieftain of a clan, lowered his head. "If Brother Leiluo wishes to take back what you just said, I will not mind. You will still be my good brother."
"Brother Leolox, how could you say such a thing? An orc's word is as firm as a nail—how could it ever be taken back?" Leiluo did not care whether they were mixed-blood orcs and Ogres. What he wanted was to figure out how to absorb the Moknasa Clan into his own clan. When Leolox had introduced Blade's Edge Mountain, he had also introduced the Moknasa Clan: they had over two thousand members and one and a half companies of warriors—one hundred and fifty in total. Furthermore, the Moknasa Clan had no laborer class. They believed all clan members were equal. From Leolox's earlier words, Leiluo guessed that the discrimination they faced because of their bloodlines had made them exceptionally united, leaving no room for a laborer class.
This was exactly the kind of outlook Leiluo wanted. "Brother Leolox, to be honest, I am also mixed-blood—half orc, half Draenei. So I understand your suffering."
Understand his ass. Although the original owner of this body had been somewhat cowardly and mixed-blood, he had an overindulgent father. Combined with his father's immense prestige within the clan, how could he possibly have suffered discrimination?
"An old orc of great virtue once told me: if an Ogre has the heart of an orc, then he is an orc. But if an orc has the heart of an Ogre, then he is an Ogre." Leiluo altered an old saying from his previous life, and the effect was indeed excellent.
Seeing Leolox's eyes grow moist, Leiluo pressed on. "So, Leolox, I do not care whether you are mixed-blood or pure-blood. What I care about is that you possess an orc's heart—a heart that wishes to protect your clan members."
Upon hearing those words, Leolox could no longer hold back his tears. But he could not let his clan members see, so he quickly gulped down his drink and pretended to choke on it.
Seeing this, Leiluo naturally understood that he needed to stoke the flames further. "Brother Leolox, if you are willing, the Pebble Clan will be your brother tribe from now on. Together, our two clans will build a beautiful homeland for the orcs of Blade's Edge Mountain."
Hearing Leiluo's words, Leolox replied in a choked voice, "No problem. From today onward, the Pebble Clan and the Moknasa Clan are brothers, and Brother Leiluo and I, Leolox, are brothers too! Come, brother—cheers!"
Leolox raised his cup and drank with Leiluo. Only after both of them were drunk did the banquet finally come to an end.
As they were helped away to rest, both men were very happy. One felt that someone had finally stopped discriminating against his bloodline; the other felt that he had successfully talked his way into gaining more than two thousand people.
