Seeing Garona's resolute gaze, Leiluo told her how to learn the Holy Light.
"I have two methods. The first is for me to gather the Holy Light, and for you to sense it. Once you can gather the Holy Light yourself, you will have mastered it. No one will be able to take it away from you."
As he spoke, Leiluo raised a hand and gathered the Holy Light in his palm.
"The other method is for me to plant a seed of the Holy Light within you, allowing you to directly sense it. But the Holy Light you sense will only be felt because you perceive my Holy Light. So whether you can gather the Holy Light within yourself is the key to whether you can master it."
"Is there any difference between these two methods?" Garona asked in confusion.
"It's like trading furs for goods. With the first method, I merely tell you how many furs can be exchanged for how much merchandise, but you have to earn the furs yourself. With the second method, I give you the furs, and you figure out for yourself how to trade them for goods." Leiluo had originally wanted to compare it to starting from nothing versus being born rich, but the words reached his lips before he remembered that Garona could not possibly understand such things, so he changed to an analogy she could understand.
"The second method undoubtedly gives you a greater chance of mastering the Holy Light than the first, but it has a major drawback. If you do learn the Holy Light, then because your Holy Light is based on mine, as long as your rank does not surpass mine, I can strip you of the right to use the Holy Light."
Watching Garona fall into thought after hearing his words, Leiluo did not urge her. He simply watched her quietly and waited for her to make her choice.
"I've decided, sir. I choose the second method."
"Why?" Leiluo did not understand why Garona had still chosen it after he explained the drawback of the second method.
"Because the second method gives me a better chance of learning the Holy Light." Garona answered with a smile.
"Sir values the power of the Holy Light so much. As long as I learn it quickly and can help you, that's enough. I don't care about anything else." Casting aside the thoughts in her heart, Garona urged, "Sir, when do we begin?"
Leiluo did not know what Garona was thinking. He merely looked at her smile and nodded.
"All right, then. Relax your mind. I'm going to plant the seed of the Holy Light in you." As he spoke, Leiluo continuously compressed the golden Holy Light in his palm until it turned milky white.
Then, the hand gathering the Holy Light slowly moved toward Garona's forehead, while the Holy Light gradually faded.
The moment Leiluo's palm touched Garona's forehead, the Holy Light finally vanished completely. Looking at Garona with her eyes closed, Leiluo knew that the seed had been planted. Whether it could sprout now depended entirely on Garona herself.
At the trading convention, the camps of the various clans were in complete disarray. From time to time, Orcs could be seen holding magical portraits and asking around.
Inside Black Robe's tent, an Orc hurried in. "Sir, we found out about that half-blood female Orc you asked us to investigate."
Upon hearing his subordinate's good news, even though he was hidden beneath his black robe, one could still sense his joy.
"Where is she? Where is that treasure?" he asked urgently in a hoarse voice.
"Sir, we learned of her near the camp of a clan called the Pebble Clan. That half-blood female Orc is too small and thin, so the Orcs nearby remembered her clearly," the Orc answered with his head lowered.
"The Pebble Clan? The Pebble Clan! Hehehe! Hehehe! Excellent. This time, not only can I find my lord's treasure, I can also take care of this nuisance while I'm at it." Black Robe turned and addressed the Orc.
"How many people does the Pebble Clan have?"
"Sir, that small clan only brought twenty warriors. But their relationship with the Moknasa Clan seems unusual. This subordinate learned that the Pebble Clan's Chieftain arrived together with the Moknasa Clan's Chieftain, and the two chatted and laughed all the way here." He was indeed a professional—even matters his employer had not instructed him to investigate were checked thoroughly.
Black Robe was clearly pleased with his subordinate's answer. He nodded and continued, "The Moknasa Clan? That clan from Blade's Edge Mountain, made up of a bunch of half-Ogre, half-Orc mongrels?"
"Yes, sir."
"That makes things a little troublesome. Those mongrels are not weak."
Seeing his master fall silent, the Orc could only continue kneeling with his head lowered.
"I have a plan. Leave immediately and return to the Shadow Council. Bring out every trained assassin. Let them see some blood, and let that treasure see our strength as well."
"Yes, sir. Your subordinate obeys." Hearing the order, the Orc breathed a sigh of relief. He finally did not have to keep kneeling, so he quickly accepted the command, bowed, and withdrew from the tent.
After eating, Leiluo remembered that Garona was still meditating, so he brought some food for her. When he entered, he happened to see Garona finish meditating.
"It's fine if you couldn't gather it. That's normal. I didn't hold much hope anyway. After all, few Orcs can use the Holy Light." Seeing that Garona showed little expression, Leiluo set down the food and tried to comfort her.
"Before me, I'd never heard of an Orc being able to use the Holy Light. It's strange—humans, Dwarves, Draenei, Blood Elves, Tauren, and even Undead can use the Holy Light in World of Warcraft, so why can't Orcs? It makes no sense."
"Sir, what are you talking about? What does sense or no sense mean?" While Leiluo was muttering to himself, a voice suddenly came from behind him.
Leiluo, completely immersed in his own world, was startled. "Garona, how do you walk without making a sound?!"
"You're really suited to be an assassin."
Hearing Leiluo muttering again, Garona said nothing further and silently ate the dinner he had brought her.
After nearly two days of contact, Garona had discovered that her lord had a very bad habit: he liked to mutter to himself, sometimes saying things she could not understand. She had grown used to it.
"Oh, right, sir." Garona suddenly remembered something while eating and called out to Leiluo.
"I gathered the Holy Light."
"Oh, it's fine. It's normal if you can't gather it..." Only after the words left his mouth did Leiluo realize that Garona had said she could use it.
"What the hell? You can gather the Holy Light?"
Seeing Leiluo's disbelieving expression, Garona did not say more. She set down her food and raised both hands. Tiny specks of golden light appeared between her palms. Though faint, they were truly the Holy Light.
This time, Leiluo's jaw truly dropped. Although the seed of the Holy Light could allow someone to directly sense the Holy Light, successfully gathering it was not guaranteed. Yet this girl before him had done it in just one afternoon. Leiluo felt that his entire worldview had been shattered.
