Garona, who had been watching Saiyba closely, saw Lantresuo's assassination unfold before her eyes. She immediately shouted at the ogres still locked in chaotic battle, "The Ogre Mage is dead! The Ogre Mage is dead!"
The ogres, already on the verge of collapse under the Behemoths' slaughter, looked back at the shout and saw that Saiyba had truly fallen. Like camels crushed by the final straw, they all dropped to their knees and surrendered.
Saxi and Delong ordered their men to gather the bodies of their fallen comrades and treat the wounded. With the Behemoths standing guard, the hundred or so kneeling ogres did not dare make any moves.
Having recovered a little strength, Garona joined the warriors in treating the injured. She bandaged those with minor wounds and used holy light on the severely injured.
Though she was saving lives, her mind was entirely on the orc who had changed the course of the battlefield. In that orc, she saw a path that truly belonged to her—a single fatal strike delivered without a trace. She was captivated by that feeling.
"Delong, how many of our people are left?" Saxi asked as he wrapped his own wounds, speaking to Delong beside him, who was also tending to his injuries.
"Ah... I brought five hundred people. Only fifty survived," Delong sighed.
"Thank you for acknowledging them!"
"Don't say that. From the moment you came to the battlefield, you became my people. You made me understand that all orcs are the same. There is no difference between us." Saxi waved a hand.
"I still have to thank you! Then how many warriors are left?"
"Of the sixty-seven Pebble Clan warriors, only ten survived. Honestly, perhaps those people will regret—"
Before Saxi could finish, Delong smacked him across the head.
"They won't regret it. This is their home. They were protecting their own home."
Delong said firmly, "You shouldn't speak of them that way. They are orcs too. Orcs never regret dying for their clan!"
Seeing the resolve in Delong's eyes, Saxi lowered his head and softly said, "Sorry."
"Come to think of it, we're done here. Where's the Chieftain?"
Poor Leiluo. Only now did his subordinates remember him.
"That's right, wasn't the Ogre Mage being handled by the Chieftain?" Saxi looked around.
"Garona was the first to shout that the Ogre Mage was dead. Let's ask her. Garona! Have you seen the Chieftain? Who killed that Ogre Mage?"
"I didn't see him, but that Ogre Mage was taken down by an orc I don't know."
"An orc you don't know?!"
Saxi and Delong exchanged a glance, then got up and headed toward Saiyba.
"Hey, who is this orc?"
"Yeah! It's my first time seeing him. Look at his chest—it's completely charred."
"Yeah... he's not dead!"
Hearing Delong's words, Saxi bent down to examine Lantresuo, then said in surprise.
"If he's not dead, save him. After all, he helped us take down that Ogre Mage."
"Alright, I'll call Garona over. What about this Ogre Mage?"
"Leave him. He's just a corpse. We can burn him together with the other ogres later."
"How is he, Garona?"
"His injuries are the same as Chieftain Leiluo's. Only he can deal with them when he returns. I can only stabilize him for now."
"Then we'll wait for the Chieftain to return."
"Listen! What's that sound outside?!"
Lanbo's Rain of Fire was still falling. Since he could not move while casting, he could only keep Leiluo occupied inside his eggshell-like barrier.
Although Leiluo had used Divine Protection and appeared completely unharmed, the holy light draining rapidly from within told him that if he did not find a way to interrupt Lanbo's Rain of Fire soon, he would become Leiluo's favorite roasted Pigger Beast before long.
"Damn it, I can only force it."
Knowing he could not keep dragging this out, Leiluo decisively canceled Divine Protection. With a flick of his hand, he hurled out the Hammer of Judgment.
"Please work!"
The Hammer of Judgment struck Lanbo with ease. Lanbo could only watch helplessly as the little golden hammer smashed into him. His mind went blank, and the Rain of Fire in the sky dispersed.
Although he had broken Lanbo's ultimate skill, Leiluo was still hit twice by flames that had not yet vanished during the time it took to throw the Hammer of Judgment. If he had not blessed himself before casting it, he might already have been lying on the ground.
"Damn it, only the Behemoths can deal with him now. Which bastard summoned something like this? Is this thing something you can just summon whenever you want?!"
Muttering to himself, Leiluo used Holy Light Healing to support himself as he ran toward the latter half of the canyon.
After being stunned for a while, how could Lanbo let Leiluo escape? He took off after him at full speed.
Before long, Leiluo spotted his people cleaning up the battlefield in the distance and shouted, "Move away! Move away!"
And that was the sound Saxi, Delong, and the others had heard.
Following the sound, Saxi and the others saw their Chieftain. At the same time, they saw the enormous creature behind him. Though they could not make out what their Chieftain was shouting, they knew enough to organize their people's retreat.
After the great battle, the tribesmen could no longer fight alongside the Chieftain. But they were not worried, because there was still a mighty deity among them. They believed Behemoth would help their Chieftain.
After all, it had come with the Chieftain to lend its strength.
When the Ogres kneeling on the ground saw the monster behind Leiluo, they were scared out of their wits. Without anyone needing to organize them, they obediently followed behind Saxi's group and retreated to safety.
"Good Behemoth, you have to come through for me. Once this fight is over, I'll roast you as many Pigger Beasts as you want."
As Leiluo ran toward Behemoth, he could only play his trump card again. But this time, Behemoth did not respond. It merely stared past him, at that demon.
That sulfuric stench was something its bloodline instinctively loathed.
Lanbo, who had run over with Leiluo, also spotted Behemoth. It was such a huge lump that anyone short of blind could see it.
But to everyone's surprise, Lanbo was not frightened. Instead, he stopped and muttered loudly enough for everyone to hear, "Heh. Didn't expect to see a Behemoth here."
Yet Behemoth gave Lanbo no more time for self-talk. Without even its usual battle roar, it suddenly charged straight at him.
"Damn it. If that bastard Orc hadn't chopped off my beloved wings, what would a Behemoth even be?"
Seeing Behemoth rush at him, Lanbo instinctively tried to flap his wings and take flight. But just as his body began to feel light, he suddenly tipped sideways.
And Behemoth's claws had already arrived.
