Prelude to the Great War

Although Varian had agreed to Lei Luo's terms, he didn't trust the Warchief of the Horde. So Varian demanded that the Horde hand over half its collection of books first. Lei Luo weighed the matter for a moment, then agreed.

After they reached an agreement, Lei Luo had wanted to drink the night away with Varian. But when a woman dressed as a beggar approached him and handed him a note, he lost all interest in drinking. The message on the note was connected to Garona.

After taking his leave of Varian, Lei Luo immediately went to the abandoned mage tower where Medivh had once lived.

The tower had once been resplendent, but now it was nothing more than a ruin. All that remained were piles of stone; everything else had been added by the organization that now occupied the tower. It looked completely out of place with the tower's original architecture.

Someone came to greet Lei Luo as soon as he arrived and escorted him all the way to the tower's highest floor.

As he made his way up, Lei Luo looked at the places where he had once fought, his heart full of complicated emotions. But when he saw the figure by the window, all those feelings turned to tears at the corners of his eyes. Though he could see only the figure's back, he was certain it was Garona, the woman he loved.
