Leiluo didn't have time to worry about what the other two would do. He slipped on the Gloves and charged toward the alpha wolf watching him from above.
"Awooo—"
Seeing Leiluo steadily approach, the glossy black alpha wolf threw back its head and howled. At the sound, the wolves that had been knocked around scattered in every direction, leaving Leiluo face-to-face with their alpha.
The wolves surrounding Lantresuo and Rexxar also stopped attacking and watched them quietly.
"Are you challenging me to a one-on-one?"
Leiluo asked softly as the alpha wolf leapt down from the high rock and slowly approached him.
"Awooo!"
But the wolf didn't answer. It lunged at Leiluo.
"Ah, I guess I was getting ahead of myself. There can't be that many clever ones around."
Leiluo blocked the alpha's attack with his Gloves and muttered to himself.
"Still, if I tame you, I can take care of the whole pack."
As he spoke, Leiluo raised his other hand, ready to end the fight. But the alpha wolf gave a powerful shake and sent him flying.
"Bang!"
Though he'd been thrown, Leiluo picked himself up without a hint of anger. Instead, he looked thrilled.
"Ha! I didn't expect you to be so strong, even if you're not that bright. You're really just my type!"
As he spoke, man and wolf collided again.
"Bang!"
"Thud!"
"Awooo!"
"Damn, that hurts!"
After a fierce exchange, Leiluo and the alpha wolf separated, watching each other warily.
Leiluo had a clear bruise around one eye, and several more covered his exposed body.
The alpha wolf's black fur made it hard to tell whether it was injured, but one of its eyes kept blinking.
"I didn't expect you to be so strong and tough, too. I like you more and more."
