The Defias Brotherhood

The Stone Masons Guild had taken up arms, rescued VanCleef from the execution ground, and withdrawn without a hitch. Their actions had shocked every high-ranking official in the Kingdom of Stormwind. Yet King Varian of Stormwind seemed utterly unaware of this major act of rebellion, which had taken place right under his nose. He continued to seek pleasure, surrounded by music and dancing.

"Smash!"

With a burst of force, Lady Talia slammed the wineglass in her hand to the ground. Shards cut her hand, and blood streamed from the wound, but no one dared step forward—not even Bovar. Lady Talia was angrier than anyone had ever seen her.

"Garvinrad! Arrest every last traitor who has turned against the Kingdom of Stormwind and the Uryen family! Execute them all! Execute them!"

Bovar knew the truth behind the Stone Masons Guild's "rebellion," and he knew how badly they had been wronged. But now he didn't dare speak. He could only hope that once Lady Talia calmed down, she would listen to his advice and go easy on those poor people.

"Bovar! Protect Varian! Don't let him associate with those lowlife nobles anymore! And one more thing! Dig out every last one of those maggots sucking the country dry! Make them pay back everything they've taken—and double it! If they can't pay, sell them off to Kalimdor! Let them be slaves to those filthy, ugly Orcs!"

Garvinrad and Bovar accepted their orders and withdrew, but Lady Talia's fury did not abate. Fury wasn't quite the right word; what she felt was closer to shame. Nothing like this had ever happened since the founding of the Kingdom of Stormwind, yet it had happened on her watch. It was a tremendous disgrace to Lady Talia, and an even greater humiliation for the Uryen family.
