Though he was too late, Garrosh still did everything he could to hurl himself toward Bovar. Just as the female Vrykul's greatsword was about to pierce Bovar's chest, a sharp arrow flew in from the doorway. It was small, but packed a punch, and it struck the Vrykul's greatsword aside. The Vrykul lifted her head and faced the doorway. Even though she had no eyes, it was clear she wanted to know who had ruined her plans.

"Quel'Thalas Ranger-Lord, Hoxbyr, at your service."

Garrosh and Bovar looked toward the doorway as well. They wanted to know who was helping them in the enemy's lair. When they looked, they saw that the one who had fired that arrow was blind.

No, blind wasn't the right word. This person—no, this elf—didn't even have eyes. Someone had brutally gouged them out, yet this eyeless elf had still managed to fire such a precise shot. Garrosh and Bovar couldn't help but feel respect for him.

"Ah!"

When the female Vrykul saw who had arrived, she let out a piercing wail like a sob and charged at Hoxbyr.

Taking advantage of the opening, Garrosh charged to Bovar's side and scattered the three shadows holding him with a single swing of his axe. He then pulled Bovar along, ready to continue their attack on the winged female Vrykul, but Hoxbyr stopped them.

"Leave this to me. You two go to the second floor!"

His voice was full of unshakable resolve. Garrosh and Bovar weren't the sort to stand on ceremony, and there was no need to ask whether Hoxbyr was friend or foe. They just had to press on. So they nodded to Hoxbyr, whether or not he could see them, then turned and charged toward the stairs to the second floor.
