The bio-giant Semu somehow pulled out a gigantic thighbone and swung it at the three enormous balls Malygos had hurled at him. The moment the thighbone struck them, a thunderclap rang out. The whole world fell silent in an instant. No one could hear a thing. Even standing right beside one another, they could only watch each other's lips move, unable to make out a word.
The thick smoke blanketing the sky made it impossible to see what was happening between Semu and Malygos. Everyone craned their necks, waiting for the outcome.
"Magatha! What are you doing?!"
Hamul watched his comrade lead the Terror Totem warriors in a massive assault beneath the city walls and shouted at her. But Magatha seemed not to hear him. She only stood dumbly at the head of the ranks, rallying their spirits.
When Magatha ignored him, Hamul stopped trying to reason with her. Though she had caught him off guard, leaving Thunder Bluff poorly defended, the city's terrain was steep and treacherous, easy to defend and difficult to attack.
