What gave Varian the biggest headache wasn't the Defias Brotherhood's familiarity with the land. It was that its members were all human, which had dragged the direct conflict between the Alliance and the Black Dragonflight underground. The losses might not have been as obvious as those on the front lines, but the time being wasted had multiplied several times over. As a result, Varian's plan to deal with Westfall first, then head north and retake Dwarven Bridge, had been put off indefinitely.
