After using "Chizuru" twice in a row,
Fang Xun took advantage of the wind current and leaped high into the air.
From above, he looked down over Jueyun and searched for Ganyu.
Actually, Fang Xun didn't need to search for her deliberately.
After flying west for a short while, he clearly heard the sound of a bowstring being drawn and arrows being shot, along with the roars of monsters.
Moments later,
Fang Xun spotted Ganyu standing on a high ground that was easy to defend and difficult to attack.
At her feet,
a horde of adult Geovishaps had gathered.
Their numbers were so great that they surged forth like a vast, surging tide, blotting out the ground.
From Fang Xun's vantage point above, it looked as though the Geovishaps were swallowing the earth.
At the same time, Fang Xun noticed
thick black smoke rising from the adult Geovishaps.
They seemed to have lost their minds, grown exceptionally violent, and attacked Ganyu without warning.
Thinking Ganyu might need his help, Fang Xun flew in her direction.
Ganyu naturally noticed Fang Xun and Qiqi flying toward her.
She wanted to tell them not to come and that she could handle the Geovishaps on her own,
but their attacks were too relentless and ferocious, leaving her no choice but to fight while retreating.
Facing attacks from several Geovishaps, Ganyu didn't panic. She dodged nimbly,
and not only that, she calmly looked for openings, using the terrain to her advantage as she fired back with her bow.
Many people only knew Ganyu as Liyue's top secretary,
but they didn't know that she had also lived through the Archon War.
That meant Ganyu's combat prowess was not to be underestimated.
Ganyu drew her bow, and thick Ice Element energy gathered incessantly at the tip of her arrow.
A moment later, the arrow flew, piercing the body of the Geovishap nearest to her.
Even strengthened, the Geovishaps still couldn't withstand a single Frostflake Arrow from Ganyu.
As a half-adeptus, Ganyu was more than capable of dealing with these Ancient Rock Lizards.
Even so, she still had her difficulties.
She could kill a Geovishap with one arrow,
but these adult Geovishaps moved far too quickly. With their burrowing, leaping, and other movement abilities,
Ganyu's arrows could easily miss.
If only she could freeze them.
Ganyu felt rather helpless.
After all, she could only wield the power of Ice,
and freezing required Water Element as well as Ice Element.
But where could she find Water Element at a time like this?
Just then, Fang Xun and Qiqi landed safely on the same level as Ganyu.
During the flight, Fang Xun had noticed the difficulty Ganyu was facing.
The best way to stop the nimble Geovishaps now
was to trigger an Elemental Reaction and use Permafrost Flow.
Permafrost Flow involved continually applying Water and Ice to monsters, repeatedly freezing them in place.
In the game, all Ganyu needed to do to use Permafrost Flow was bring Mona along.
Ganyu's Elemental Burst could continually apply Ice to monsters,
while Mona's Elemental Burst continually applied Water, making it a perfect fit for Ganyu's skill set.
And Fang Xun had recently obtained Mona's Elemental Burst.
He could take Mona's place and work with Ganyu to freeze the monsters.
"Miss Ganyu, perhaps I can take some of the pressure off you."
As his words fell,
magic circles rose beneath Fang Xun's feet.
They shone brightly, and starry patterns appeared around him.
Bright, pure starlight danced, its dazzling glow illuminating all of Jueyun.
The next moment, the sky changed.
Rain pattered against the ground,
soaking Ganyu and the monsters alike.
Ganyu was surprised.
She hadn't expected Fang Xun to be able to use Water Element as well as Ice Element.
Across all of Liyue, even throughout the Teyvat Continent,
she had never heard of anyone who could wield two Elements at once.
How incredible.
Not only that,
Ganyu could clearly feel that the skill Fang Xun used was unusual.
The rain didn't feel cold and wet against her skin. Instead, it gave her an indescribable warmth.
Ganyu could clearly feel
the power dormant inside her stirring under the effects of Fang Xun's skill.
It felt just like the power the adepti had bestowed upon her years ago.
Ganyu had no time to marvel at it. Her top priority was dealing with the monsters.
"Like crystal flakes, falling from the sky."
Ganyu raised her hand and sent an Ice Spirit Pearl into the sky.
It was her Elemental Burst, "Celestial Shower."
In an instant, rain and icicles fell in alternating streams from above.
The Geovishaps darting around were frozen in place as soon as they came into contact with both Ice and Water.
Once they could no longer leap around, they became sitting ducks in Ganyu's eyes.
She raised her bow and fired arrow after arrow,
each shot crisp and decisive, never wasting a movement, every arrow striking a monster's weak point.
Fang Xun and Qiqi didn't sit idle either. They joined the fight.
Little Qiqi wielded the axe she'd used to chop wood that day and performed Cloud Retainer's Swordplay.
Though Qiqi was petite, she had more than enough strength to smash the frozen Geovishaps to pieces.
She darted among the monsters on her short legs.
Fang Xun, meanwhile, used two charges of "Chizuru" to gather the adult Geovishaps together, making it easier for Ganyu to take out several at once.
The two worked together seamlessly.
Ganyu felt more at ease than ever before.
With Fang Xun grouping the monsters together, her accuracy improved greatly.
In the blink of an eye, all the rampaging Geovishaps had been defeated.
"Miss Ganyu, are you all right?" Fang Xun asked as he approached her, Qiqi in his arms.
"Thank you for asking, Mister Fang Xun. I... I'm fine." Ganyu gently shook her head. "Thank you both so much for today."
"Thanks to your help, I have a lot less work to do."
Could Ganyu have dealt with the Geovishaps on her own?
Certainly, but it would have taken a great deal of time and energy.
With Fang Xun and Qiqi's help, the task had taken half the effort.
Just then,
Ganyu noticed a trace of blood on Fang Xun's wrist.
She cried out in alarm. "Mister Fang Xun, it looks like your hand is hurt!"
Fang Xun looked down and saw a thin line of blood seeping from his wrist.
It must have happened when he used "Chizuru" to gather the monsters earlier. A flying icicle had grazed his arm.
But it was nothing serious, just a minor wound. He didn't even feel any pain.
If Ganyu hadn't pointed it out, Fang Xun wouldn't have noticed at all.
He just chuckled and said, "Miss Ganyu, it's only a minor injury. It's nothing to worry about. The wound will probably heal in a moment."
Ganyu immediately shook her head. "That won't do. Any injury needs to be properly treated."
"Besides, those monsters were all contaminated. I'm worried the contamination could infect your body, so we need to take this seriously."
As she spoke, Ganyu took a clean white handkerchief from inside her clothes.
