Background / History
Qiqi was originally an ordinary mortal herb-picking girl who became a casualty of the Immortal-Demon War 33 34. Driven by a desperate will to survive, she manifested a Genshin's Eye and harnessed immense power to help end the conflict 34. To save her life, the immortals infused her body with their power, inadvertently turning her into a zombie 34. Because her frail body could not withstand the immortal energy, she went mad and had to be sealed inside amber by the True Lord of Water and Mountains 34.
Hundreds of years later, the immortal Fang Xun broke the amber seal in Guili Plains, waking Qiqi to a world she no longer remembered 34 35. Suffering from profound amnesia and stiff limbs, Qiqi initially experienced intense loneliness and fear of abandonment 34 35. Fang Xun took her in, taught her flexibility exercises, gave her a memory-enhancing talisman, and helped her integrate into a community where she befriended young Ningguang, Ganyu, and other children 35 36 37 39 44.
