Rider and Berserker.
It was clear that Berserker's Master had no intention of joining forces with Rider to fight Archer. When Rider proactively bid farewell, Berserker's Master made no move to stop him, allowing him to leave.
On the battlefield, there are only enemies and friends. But on the battlefield for the Holy Grail, there are only present enemies and future enemies.
The King's Army clearly countered Berserker, whose individual combat strength was superior, to the point that Berserker's Master would rather face Archer alone than ally with Rider.
Was it foolishness or arrogance? Berserker's Master didn't seem like an idiot or an egomaniac.
Therefore, it could only be assumed that he had a means to deal with Archer. He didn't fear Archer. His sudden appearance in the public eye was because he had made his best effort and no longer needed to hide.
Eliminate all impossibilities, and whatever remains, however unbelievable, must be the truth. The famous quote from a certain British detective was undoubtedly correct.
Coupled with that individual possessing an ability similar to future sight, the probability of this was magnified infinitely.
If one were to consider each event linked to victory as a corner of a complete puzzle, how many pieces of the puzzle did Berserker's Master hold? What were those pieces? And when did he acquire them?
There was too little information to lift the veil of mystery. Rider felt a bit troubled. Looking at it this way, his own side was in the worst situation in this battle.
"Rider, are we just going to wander around like this?" Waver asked.
His voice was filled with unease, and Rider could understand his apprehension, as he himself felt the situation was overwhelmingly dire.
"Then, Master, do you have any questions?" Rider calmly retorted.
"Rider, you use your own Magic Power when you use your Noble Phantasm, don't you?" Waver took a deep breath and posed his question.
"What's wrong? Is there a problem?" Rider keenly noticed that Waver's state of mind had a significant issue, which made him feel uneasy. He grinned, attempting to brush it off, "What's wrong? Isn't it common sense for a Servant to provide some of their own Magic Power when releasing a Noble Phantasm?"
"Don't lie to me! Rider!" Waver roared with all his might, his eyes red. "I'm a Mage, you don't need to tell me such lies!"
Waver slumped back in his seat, his previous words seeming to have drained all the strength from the young boy. "You've been in your spirit form after releasing your Noble Phantasm."
Rider disliked spirit form. He preferred being materialized; it gave him a sense of being alive, even if it brought more trouble. As long as he could maintain his physical form with Magic Power, he wouldn't choose spirit form.
Rider looked at the erupting Waver and fell silent. How should he respond?
Master, you're too weak, you can't even provide Magic Power.
It was like a joke, scolding his partner for their inherent disadvantage. Disregarding his partner's utmost efforts, his sleepless nights of contemplation, and the courage shown through self-improvement.
What kind of useless dog is this!!! His father would regret not shooting this residue onto the wall!
Rider's expression was incredibly grim. He clenched his fist, as if wanting to punch someone.
So he's dissatisfied with me, Waver smiled bitterly. Indeed, if it weren't for his own burden, how could Rider have ended up in such a state?
It was all his fault, and it was time to make a decision. Waver tightly clenched his fist, his eyes filled with determination. He calmed his slightly chaotic breathing, then whispered, "Although this would violate the rules, the Fuyuki Church has lost its supervisory capacity, so breaking the rules doesn't matter."
"I will hand over the Command Spells to Li Zihan. He is a far more capable Mage than I am." Waver's gaze dimmed. If possible, he wished it was himself who stood on the battlefield with Rider. "You saw it too, he's a great Mage who can provide you with sufficient Magic Power, and he's also been declared war upon by Archer, so he urgently needs combat power."
"Archer is indeed incredibly powerful, but if it's Berserker plus you, combined with the support of the five Command Spells from me and Li Zihan, even the most ancient king would fall before you."
"Then, you can touch the Holy Grail and obtain a physical body." Waver's voice choked up at this point. "You, you can live as a human again."
Waver dared not look up, unwilling to be met with Rider's disgusted gaze. Even if such an action was merely futile avoidance.
Running away is shameful, but it is useful.
