Background / History

Li Zihan is a reincarnated transmigrator whose origin remains uncertain even to himself. He considered whether he was a traveler carrying memories from another world, a child with foreign memories, or the result of two souls merging, but eventually abandoned the question as unanswerable. After surviving an encounter with a ghoul, he was discovered by Kaineth and trained as a first-generation Mage. 491

He spent fifteen years in the Type-Moon world collecting Exotic Energy to restart his dormant System. At 70% charge, he chose to enter the Fuyuki Holy Grail War to obtain the remaining energy needed to leave the world. 2 Before that conflict, he had already attempted to infiltrate the Matou household with Kariya Matou and eliminate Matou Zoken, only to discover that Zoken's clones and hidden true body made a permanent kill impossible. 3

Li later dealt with Zoken as a mutually beneficial associate rather than a genuine ally. He sought Zoken's complete Command Spell system in exchange for a potential route to restored youth and immortality. 3 33
