A tentacle covered in slime and lined with terrifying suckers burst from beneath the desert, strangling and devouring the cavalryman charging at the front. This brave rider never knew what had happened, even at the moment of death.
Rider's expression changed sharply. He realized something was terribly wrong. Roaring like an enraged lion, he shouted, "Groups of three! Everyone, spread out!"
They had to spread out, or this would turn into a massacre.
One grotesque tentacle after another reached up from beneath the desert, as though countless demons were dancing wildly here.
The enormous monster broke free from the earth's restraints. As it emerged from underground, the entire barrier trembled. It was an even larger monster than the Sea Monster they had seen in the church. With a casual stretch of its tentacles, this demon could overturn vast swathes of land. Yellow waves spread outward from it, like an ocean of sand.
"Aaaahhhh—" A fearless warrior charged forward. He hurled the spear in his hand, piercing a tentacle, then drew the longsword at his waist and continued onward.
Unfortunately, smaller tentacles wrapped around his ankle, followed by a frenzied strangling.
Blood dyed a patch of land red, like an unfading flower answering the hero's sacrifice.
Countless tentacles suddenly rose, then crashed down. Under this unnatural assault, the peerless army lost its orderly formation.
The fiend swept through the cavalry ranks, its tentacles easily scouring across the entire desert. Yet the fearless cavalrymen still charged ahead without regard for their lives. They overcame the terror and madness this aberration brought to humanity and fought it fiercely.
The cavalrymen's spears pierced the fiend's body. Blood poisonous to humans spread across the desert, releasing miasma and venom. Unlucky warriors were often splashed by the toxic blood or stepped onto ground soaked in it.
