Three-Winged Building. Nick Fury and Agent Hill were watching their operatives' actions from the Command Center.
When Captain America was easily controlled by the Purple Man, and Hawkeye's arrow failed to make a difference, leaving everyone in Captain America's team except Grant Ward under the Purple Man's control...
Nick Fury thought that was the worst news he'd see tonight.
But he'd only thought that for one second!
"Hydra..."
"Hydra..."
Everyone who obeyed the Purple Man's order to answer about their origins—except for Hawkeye—was Hydra, every last one of them!!!
Nick instantly smashed his own desk as he shot to his feet.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck, motherfucker!!!"
He couldn't even describe the rage boiling inside him!
He wasn't stupid. He'd just started cooperating with Nick and S.H.I.E.L.D., and now the whole organization was crawling with Hydra. That meant the Skrulls...
Ahem.
Anyway, as the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., having eight out of ten of his subordinates be Hydra...
To Nick Fury, this was a bolt from the blue!
He wasn't an idiot. He knew no one would dare joke about Hydra inside S.H.I.E.L.D.
So those agents' words could only be the truth.
And what followed—John Garrett leading his men to attack Coulson—only cemented the matter beyond doubt.
Nick Fury instantly felt he was about to face the biggest crisis of his tenure!
"Hill, quickly contact the heads of all global branches. Order them to enter wartime status immediately. Unlimited supply of Truth Serum. We must root out every single Hydra member hiding among us!"
"What about John Garrett's direct subordinates?"
"Wipe them out!"
"And the agents with close personal ties to Garrett?"
"Better to kill the wrong ones than let the right ones go!"
"But what if other senior agents are also Hydra?"
"Then I guess we'll see just how rotten my S.H.I.E.L.D. has become!"
With that exchange, Hill quickly worked the computer, editing the orders to be sent to every branch.
At the same time, she opened a video call to link up with the divisions for Nick Fury.
But before the call could even go through, it inexplicably shut down on its own.
Then, the orders Hill had edited refused to send no matter what she tried!
Seeing this, Hill shot to her feet, let out a long sigh toward Nick, who had his back to her, staring out the window, and said.
"They've infiltrated deeper than we thought. We've probably taken on the most pointless mission of our lives."
"Yeah, I can already see the agents charging at us!"
Nick sighed as well, then pulled an unusually crafted pistol from his pocket.
Gripping the nearly oval-shaped gun, he spoke to Hill behind him.
"It's a shame the Super Skrull promised by Leader Talos hasn't arrived from space yet. If he could replicate even thirty to fifty percent of Heisenberg's abilities, the Skrull Empire would rise again."
"Don't think about that now, Tiatel. Please pray to our ancestors, and be grateful we can die together!"
Hill said solemnly, drawing her own weapon.
But Nick Fury—whom she called Tiatel—didn't echo her prayer. He took a long breath.
"Arida, you can't die yet."
"But—"
"No buts. I'm the Commander of this operation, aren't I?"
"Yes!"
"Then escape the Three-Winged Building. Get to Heisenberg. Reveal our identities to him. Trade one of our spaceships for his promise to save us!"
"But he doesn't need a spaceship at all!"
"Even Captain Marvel needs a ship. If there's a ship to ride, no one enjoys the loneliness of endless flight through space."
"What about you? Let's break out together!"
"Do you think they'll give us that chance? I'll draw their fire. As long as you're fast enough, you can come back and save me before I die."
At that, the alien Arida finally made up her mind.
She rushed to the left wall of the Command Center, pressed a secret switch, and a small equipment cache appeared in the wall.
Arida grabbed a glider from inside and strapped it on without hesitation.
Meanwhile, Tiatel, wearing Nick Fury's face, also grabbed his weapon and charged out of the command room.
The moment the gunshot rang out, Arida in the command room sprinted toward the window.
She raised her gun, aimed at the window, and fired. A brilliant blue plasma sphere melted the glass instantly.
And Arida—she leaped out without hesitation.
On the other hand, Heisenberg had already returned to his rooftop.
Honestly, he really couldn't bring himself to treat that villa as his home.
Because this so-called home held not a shred of emotion worth cherishing.
Not familial love, romantic love, or friendship.
But he had to admit, he found this rooftop and that recliner incredibly comforting instead.
He'd been in the Marvel Universe for about ten days now, and whenever he lay down on that recliner, his heart could finally settle.
As usual, he lay back, tilting his head to glance at the unconscious Jessica.
She was covered in filth—crimson gore, yellow fluid—utterly disgusting.
Ding!
Heisenberg pressed the service bell.
"Send two people up to take your security director back to her room!"
With that, he closed his eyes and immediately looked as if he'd fallen asleep.
When two service staff arrived, the sight of the flesh and blood nearly made them vomit.
But they'd only prepared to take Jessica away, not bringing tools to clean the floor.
So they quietly carried Jessica off first.
As they escorted her, they contacted more staff—they didn't dare leave such a mess on the Boss's rooftop.
But before they could ready their tools, Eliza and Crossbones had already arrived.
When the two reached the rooftop, they naturally saw the filth left by the Purple Man.
Even as seasoned killers, both of their expressions soured slightly.
They exchanged a glance, nodded heavily, and then continued toward Heisenberg.
When they reached him, Heisenberg stood up from his reclining position.
"Let's talk by the liquor cabinet—this place is a bit disgusting!"
As he spoke, he led them to the dining area over forty meters away.
After gesturing for them to sit, Heisenberg opened the liquor cabinet and turned back to ask them.
"What's everyone drinking?"
"Champagne!" That was Eliza.
"Gin!" That was Rumlow.
Hearing Rumlow's preference, Heisenberg chuckled.
Based on that choice alone, he could bet the man was a professional agent—the kind who could lead a team even if his subordinates were all spies!
Definitely better than Nick Fury.
So Heisenberg grabbed his favorite bourbon whiskey, along with the drinks they'd chosen, and returned to the table to sit down.
Eliza casually picked up the bourbon and easily opened it with a small fork tucked at her waist.
Rumlow took the whiskey glass, let Eliza fill it for him, and then slid the drink over to Heisenberg.
After they'd each prepared their drinks, Heisenberg raised his glass to them.
"To my stunningly beautiful and incredibly capable Eliza, and to our new comrade, the best Commander I'll ever have under me—Crossbones, cheers!"
"Cheers!" ×2.
Setting down his glass, Heisenberg began to explain to them.
"Rumlow, you just joined us, but there's no difference between you—Eliza only defected to me less than a day ago."
As he spoke, Heisenberg looked at Eliza.
"Don't worry either—I only took out Kingpin about ten days ago, and Bullseye defected to me just a week before you!"
While he talked, Eliza refilled his glass.
"Bullseye—I gave him the role of a gang leader familiar with the streets and the underground network, but at most, he can only lead the gang members under me.
I might not have told you my plan yet, so let me explain: in my scheme, the gangs are far from the most important piece!"
He pointed a finger at Rumlow, who was lost in thought.
"Just like I took over Kingpin's legacy, I'll fully absorb all of Hydra's power. But your organization is too massive—just the two of you won't be nearly enough!"
"Indeed, BOSS!"
Rumlow nodded in agreement.
Heisenberg nodded as well.
"Right. So I need you to use your knowledge of Hydra to pick out every talented person in Hydra who can adapt to management work. Find them, rely on them, use them. Can you do that?"
Listening to Heisenberg's question and staring into his deep eyes, Rumlow suddenly felt intoxicated!
What truly intoxicates a man is never alcohol, but the friends at the table, the woman across the steak, and the swelling ambition!
Rumlow believed Heisenberg could do everything he said—after all, anyone with Heisenberg's power could pull it off.
So, could he really become the head of the entire Hydra snake?
He nodded firmly.
"I can!"
As the words left his mouth, he downed his glass in one gulp, letting stray drops of liquor spill onto his shirt.
Seeing this, Heisenberg nodded with satisfaction.
"Good. Immediately list everyone you know, have heard of, or can think of. Do your best to bring them all under my command!"
"Yes!"
Rumlow answered heavily.
Then Heisenberg turned his gaze to Eliza.
"Go to Bullseye and get Kingpin's contact info for all his forces worldwide. Use them to protect everyone Rumlow marks. Spare no effort!"
"Yes!"
Eliza nodded respectfully.
With that, Heisenberg tapped the table lightly.
"That's it. I'm putting all my over thirty thousand men in New York in your hands. Give me an answer that satisfie—"
Boom!!!
Before he could finish, the spot beneath his favorite lounge chair was utterly blasted apart by something unknown!
In the next instant, a slender figure leaped up through the gaping hole.
The poor chair instantly gave out, and Heisenberg's chest swelled with rage!
"Hill, what the hell have you done!!!"
He recognized her at once as Hill, but she was supposed to be dealing with S.H.I.E.L.D.'s mess. How did she end up here?
Hill sprinted toward Heisenberg, explaining rapidly as she ran.
"Kryptonian Heisenberg, I am a refugee of the Skrull Empire. I offer a spaceship in exchange for your protection for me and one of my kin!"
As she spoke, her entire body rapidly turned green. In mere moments, the cold and beautiful Agent Hill transformed into a wrinkled, green-skinned ugly creature!
And Heisenberg...
(°_°)...
(╯°Д°)╯︵┻━┻!!!
"Pfft?!!"
He spat out all the wine he'd just drunk.
"Replaced by a Skrull this early? And I was planning to hit on her back then!"
Heisenberg leaned against the chair back like a flickering candle, on the verge of tears.
"I actually wanted to bang that thing... I'm tainted..."
