Flying—free and easy flying.
Heisenberg pierced through the clouds again and again, savoring the feeling of drifting through a sea of clouds.
Swimming was a skill most humans could master, but aside from battling the waves in the ocean, wouldn't soaring through a cloud sea feel even more magnificent?
Of course it would!
Otherwise, how could Heisenberg have flown from nightfall until dawn?
He had to admit, Heisenberg had gone a little wild with flying; he wasn't even sure how many times he'd circled the globe.
When he'd unilaterally said goodbye to Nick Fury, the night sky had suggested it was around eleven or twelve.
But now, as he hovered over New York again, the sun was already shining down on the city.
Heisenberg floated at an altitude of about twenty thousand meters, lying spread-eagled, his entire front facing the sun.
"This... this warm and vibrant feeling...!"
Heisenberg was stunned.
It felt like he was recalling the sensation of sneaking a little blue pill with his wife back before he'd transmigrated!
How to describe it?
Warm, and brimming with confidence all over!
Haha~~.
Using that kind of drug to describe the sun's effect on a Kryptonian was a bit disrespectful, sure.
But that was exactly the feeling the sunlight gave him.
Heisenberg could even clearly sense his power swelling rapidly!
He couldn't say exactly how much stronger he'd gotten, but he was confident that he could take on two of his former self without issue.
Basking in the sun's enhancement like that, Heisenberg lay quietly for over two hours.
Only when his stillness gave way to restlessness did he roll over in the clouds and start thinking about where he should settle down.
Find a farm like Superman and quietly play the part of an American farmer?
No, no, no!
That wasn't the life Heisenberg wanted.
Back when he had no power, he'd still pursued enjoyment to the fullest.
When he earned less than five thousand a month, he'd still drink a few times every month.
When his monthly income neared ten thousand, he started hitting the clubs occasionally.
Later, as he earned more and more, he indulged himself more freely, but his desires inevitably grew along with it.
Before becoming a Kryptonian, Heisenberg was obsessed with making money, because on an Earth without superhuman power, money was power!
So now, wielding strength that could only be described as otherworldly...
He was supposed to lay low, hide his identity, scrape by, and blend into the world?
Screw that!
Heisenberg spun around and shot straight into the room he'd left earlier.
That is... Nick Fury's private office in the New York Branch of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Boom!!!
Crash, clatter~~.
The floor-to-ceiling window, installed less than two hours ago, shattered abruptly. The S.H.I.E.L.D. renovation crew working on the office floor nearly pissed themselves in fright.
Under the gaze of countless renovation workers, Heisenberg casually waved a hand at them.
"Don't panic, everyone, carry on as you were. I'm just looking for Nick Fury. Seems I had a small appointment with him before I left."
The moment he finished speaking, every single person present nearly dropped to their knees on the spot!
You're way too damn scary—that was imported explosion-proof glass made in China, not some shoddy American knockoff.
Glass that a heavy machine gun round couldn't punch through, and you just broke it like a thin film!
Are you even human?
After a moment of stunned silence, someone finally reacted.
That employee whipped out a pistol and started firing at Heisenberg.
The little handgun spat out bullets with all its might, but Heisenberg just frowned.
His clothes... were getting torn.
"Everyone, a moment of impulse can be forgiven. But if you continue, don't say I didn't warn you!"
To keep his appearance more presentable, Heisenberg tried to reason with the agents.
But no one listened.
They only saw Heisenberg as an intruder—after all, with Nick Fury locking down the information and enforcing strict secrecy, no one had briefed them on Heisenberg's identity.
And the hail of bullets that followed was a testament to the fine caliber of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
The bullets left their chambers, slammed into Heisenberg, then ricocheted off in every direction with wailing screeches.
Heisenberg didn't even flinch, but the agents started crying out one after another.
"Ahhh, my back!!!"
"Damn it, watch the ricochets!"
"Cease fire, he's bulletproof!"
"He's a monster!"
"Who is he? Ah, I'm hit!"
In just five seconds, over three hundred rounds slammed into Heisenberg, spraying wildly across the office.
And more than six agents were wounded as a result.
The brief barrage quickly stopped. Heisenberg still stood in place, but the agents had already begun scattering in panic!
"This is Maintenance Unit Four, someone's broken into the Three-Winged Building!"
"The intruder is a superhuman—we need backup!"
Many started reporting the breach, sending a cold sweat down Nick Fury's back as he watched Natasha's progress from the basement.
Fury immediately shut down the video of Natasha in India and switched to the surveillance feed of his own office.
He recognized Heisenberg's face at a glance!
"This is Nick Fury. Cease fire, all units, cease fire!"
He hurriedly issued the order to stop the attack, wiping sweat as he sprinted out of the underground control center.
In the office.
Heisenberg's superhuman hearing picked up Fury's command.
The agents obeyed, lowering their guns in unison and raising their hands toward Heisenberg to show they posed no threat.
And Heisenberg...
"Now you know when to stop?"
He quipped softly, then suddenly lifted his foot. When it came back down, the entire office floor shattered into dust!
The concrete and the blast-proof metal embedded within it all exploded into fragments in an instant.
There wasn't a single spot left to stand on in the whole office.
Boom! Crash! Thud!
The agents dropped like dumplings into a pot, clattering down to the floor below.
And when they landed, the jagged concrete and even deadlier metal shards turned them into bloody messes.
At least, judging by the color of their clothes, they were already drenched in blood.
"Ahhh!!!"
"Damn it, help them!"
"Quick, get them help—they're too badly hurt!"
The floor directly beneath Fury's office seemed to be some kind of lab, and panicked researchers scrambled to start first aid.
Heisenberg just floated in the air, his face utterly calm, as if the chaos below had nothing to do with him.
About twenty seconds later, someone finally shook off their fear.
A maintenance worker, not too badly injured, struggled to his feet. He raised his right hand, pointing at Heisenberg, and shouted with all his might.
"We already stopped firing—why did you still do this?"
"Why?"
Heisenberg sneered in reply, then slowly floated down.
"You're asking why I still hurt you after you stopped firing?
Then why, after I introduced myself and tolerated your first wave of attacks, did you still greet me with murderous intent?
You open fire when you want, you stop when you want—but why should everything go the way you want?"
Bam!!!
Heisenberg slapped the speaking agent across the face, sending him crashing to the ground.
But he held back, not sending the agent's brains splattering onto the researchers behind him.
"Your ways are too overbearing, and your guns are too dangerous. So I've doled out a small punishment—let this be a lesson to you all!"
"And as I said, don't say I didn't warn you!"
After slapping the man, Heisenberg said darkly, slowly floating over to the door.
This was the method he chose to establish his authority!
Indeed, he was strong—strong enough that Nick and the others clearly knew not to provoke him.
But that wasn't nearly enough.
Superman was strong too, yet no one feared him. Whether it was Luthor or some random U.S. official, they all dared to spout nonsense at Superman.
Heisenberg would never be like Superman.
No matter the reason, only by truly hurting them, truly injuring them—
By building an image of himself as unpredictable, quick to harm, and indifferent to human life—could he earn the respect of the weak and the fear he deserved.
Sigh...
Pushing open the door and leaving the lab, Heisenberg saw quite a few agents gathering.
And he walked right through them like a warrior surrounded, passing two more similar labs.
Finally, he spotted the lounge—or at least, a room with a few sofas.
So he lounged into one, closed his eyes, and waited for Nick Fury's arrival.
There were inevitably some agents around, watching or rather monitoring Heisenberg.
But with Hill's arrival, they all dispersed.
Hill quietly sat across from Heisenberg, lightly tapping the sofa arm to signal she was there.
Heisenberg grunted, opened his eyes, and said, "Let me see... yeah, Nick Fury's about sixty meters underground, rising. So we've got about five minutes.
A bit short, but it's an honor to share these five minutes with a pretty lady like you."
"Hmph."
Hearing Heisenberg's words, Hill pursed her lips and smiled gently.
"Mr. Heisenberg, your sweet talk doesn't quite match the way you hurt our agents."
"Alright, let me explain. My philosophy on life is very simple: if someone bares their teeth at me, I glare back. That's fair."
"But you know better than we do that my men couldn't hurt you!"
"So I'm supposed to stand there and let them shoot me in the face? If you were bitten by dozens of mosquitoes, would you just stand there and take it?"
Heisenberg's expression soured a bit. No matter how beautiful the woman sitting across from him was, his bottom line wouldn't budge.
If you don't want to be hurt by this world, you have to hurt it as much as you can before you get hurt!
He had to bare his claws, show his fangs.
Only by making everyone certain he wasn't someone to mess with would no one dare to mess with him.
On that front, the neighboring DC Universe had already given him plenty of examples.
Look at Superman—doing good deeds every day, enjoying the worship of some, while countless schemers plotted against him.
His lover and his mother, the two people he loved most.
And yet.
His lover and mother had practically become kidnapping professionals!
How innocent, how ridiculous!
Then look at Batman—brutal in his methods, but sticking to his no-kill rule.
So his enemies kept coming back, attacking him, provoking him, hurting him in new ways over and over again!
Tsk tsk tsk.
Look—who dares to provoke The Joker Batman? That's the Batman who kills without restraint.
And who dares to glare at Injustice Superman? No one dares to defy any of his orders.
If you sheathe your power in the scabbard of mercy and kindness, no one will fear that blade that shows no edge.
And that was the survival philosophy Heisenberg had decided on for his future.
He didn't want to be a sword sealed away by justice. He wanted to show the world its sharpest edge!
He admitted it—for the first twenty-eight years of his life, he was just a mortal. Maybe he couldn't achieve true cruelty, the absolute evil of someone like The Joker.
But if it was just killing...
He could do it.
And if moderate killing let him live more peacefully.
If moderate brutality let him enjoy life better.
Then so be it.
Killing—he had no choice in the matter!
"Hill!"
Heisenberg spoke with a grave expression.
"This is my second warning to you. Anyone who points a gun at me won't meet a good end. Believe me."
"But..."
Hill seemed about to explain something, but Heisenberg was instantly at her side, easily gripping her chin.
"You want to say 'but'? Hah!"
Heisenberg's action made Hill glare at him in fury, but unfortunately, a beauty making such a face was hardly intimidating.
"Don't question me, Earthling. You may have your rules, but I have my own standards.
They raised their guns at me—that was their choice.
Making them pay a price is my repayment.
Do you think that's not enough, since they're still alive?
Then I can just as easily have them killed. What do you think?!"
"Mmph mmph!"
Hearing Heisenberg's words, Hill struggled incessantly.
Seeing this, Heisenberg released her and pushed her aside.
"Tsk, tsk. Interesting creatures—self-righteous and hypocritical. So, keep your mouth shut in front of me!
Talking to you has made me so thirsty I'm annoyed. Now, prepare me a drink. Go!"
A new story sets sail, awaiting your support. I hope we can carve a path together here at Qidian.
Thank you!
