Just as Heisenberg was flipping through the comic, Barbie Doll asked softly.
"That beam that shot up from underground earlier—that was Heat Vision, right?"
"Huh?"
Heisenberg paused to weigh his words, then pretended to be a genuine Kryptonian Elder as he explained to Barbie Doll.
"I'm not sure either. After all, I only got that ability after arriving on your planet. If you think it was Heat Vision, then let's call it that!"
With that, Heisenberg hurriedly finished flipping through the comic in his hands.
This was one of Superman's earliest comics, telling the story of his origins and the background between him and Krypton.
Just one comic, and it already contained plenty of useful information.
For instance, Superman's power came from Earth's yellow sun.
Or that Superman could be weakened by Kryptonite.
And also, that Superman carried within him an incredibly precious Codex.
So Heisenberg shook the comic he'd just read.
"I find this hard to believe!"
He said.
"The main character here seems to be a descendant of mine. Has a Kryptonian ever come to Earth before?"
"Of course not!" Barbie Doll helplessly crossed her arms. "Before you showed up, no one thought the Milky Way Galaxy actually had a bunch of Kryptonians!"
"That's exactly why I find it hard to believe."
Heisenberg feigned surprise as he explained.
"I have to admit, I really don't know what Krypton is like now.
After all, I was imprisoned and exiled eighteen thousand years ago.
In the vast cosmos, the only things I could savor were loneliness and the passage of time.
As for whether my people banned natural birth, or if great Krypton has truly fallen—
I can't confirm any of that. Can you?"
"Don't ask me. If I could answer you, I wouldn't be ordered by my superiors to throw myself at you like some whore."
Barbie Doll finished speaking and let out a long sigh...
"Sigh."
"Sigh."
Heisenberg sighed too.
The two stared at each other for a moment, and Heisenberg gave a helpless smile.
"Maybe I should find a ship and jump back to my homeland for a look!"
Of course, that was all an act, but Barbie Doll bought it anyway.
"Maybe I should quit early too. Otherwise, a female agent like me will inevitably end up in some guy's bed sooner or later."
Barbie Doll dropped another blunt remark, and the words plunged them both into silence again.
Looking at Heisenberg, who wore a blank expression but clearly didn't know how to respond, Barbie Doll gave a faint smile.
"Alright, enough of that. When in office, do your duty, right? So from now on, I'll be hanging around you often as ordered. Consider this my heads-up."
"Uh..."
Heisenberg finally snapped back to reality.
He hesitated for a moment, then frowned.
"You... sure are honest!"
"So then, now that you know I was sent to your side, and my mission is to use every method, give everything I can, just to get every bit of information about you..."
Barbie Doll said, lightly kicking Heisenberg's shin with her foot.
"Knowing that inside scoop, what do you really think?"
"I..."
For the first time, Heisenberg felt what it meant to be tongue-tied.
So this was it—if a girl wanted to flirt with you, she could really make you go weak all over...
Seeing Heisenberg like this, Barbie Doll kicked his calf again.
"Come on, tell me. I've never had a chance to do this kind of close-contact intelligence work before. How would a target like you see someone like me?"
"How do I see you? I see you lying down..."
Heisenberg spread his hands, shrugged innocently, and joked.
"I can only be grateful that in my era, my planet didn't ban natural birth like the comic you gave me!"
"..."
Barbie Doll instantly blushed. She kicked Elder Heisenberg's leg hard with her white sneaker.
"You really know how to flirt, huh. I'm Barbara, Barbara Morse. Now we're acquainted!"
Laughing as she scolded, Barbara extended her small hand toward Heisenberg.
Heisenberg took Barbara's paw and gave it a shake, introducing himself.
"I'm Heisenberg!
As for a surname, Krypton in my era didn't really have that concept. They all called me Elder Heisenberg!"
"Then what about me? I can't exactly call you Elder Heisenberg either, can I?"
"Considering our age difference, you're perfectly welcome to call me Daddy, or Grandpa. I don't mind either way."
"Damn it, you really are... Forget it, I'm done talking!"
Barbara was finally defeated by Heisenberg's shamelessness.
The girl, like a freshly bloomed flower, bounced up from the sofa.
She first went over to Heisenberg, bumped fists with him to signal they were friends.
Then she turned and walked away.
As she left, she tapped her ear with her index finger.
"My Director just gave me an order over here—to set you up with a bar that'll satisfy you!
With a rooftop, somewhere you can sunbathe, right?"
"Yeah, thanks!"
Heisenberg waved goodbye to the departing Barbara.
Only after Barbara's figure had completely vanished did Heisenberg click his tongue in appreciation.
"Tsk, tsk. That biomimetic bird here is way prettier than the actresses on TV!"
After mentally rating the biomimetic bird Barbara's looks, Heisenberg shook his head thoughtfully.
It seemed that after confirming his earth-shattering strength, S.H.I.E.L.D. had chosen the softest approach to appease and recruit him.
Why did the biomimetic bird lay her intentions bare to him, even leaking the command she heard through her earpiece as a joke before leaving?
It was like two animals deciding to fight.
But before the fight even started, one animal realized its opponent was too strong and didn't want to fight anymore...
So what did it do? It rolled over and exposed its belly to the opponent.
In Heisenberg's mind, S.H.I.E.L.D. right now was like a submissive hyena.
It wagged its tail, rolled on the ground, showed him its belly, and howled seductively.
"Come on, rub me! I'm showing you my most secret spot!"
If it weren't for his current identity and power as a Kryptonian, Heisenberg wouldn't want to get too tangled up with S.H.I.E.L.D.
Because no matter how submissive a hyena acts, it's still a hyena.
If he truly believed in S.H.I.E.L.D.'s temporary submission, then once they figured out his habits, once they grasped—or even created—weaknesses for him...
That hyena would immediately flip over and sink its teeth into his neck, his belly, even his ass!
But now, Heisenberg was the only Superman in the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
So he had to connect with S.H.I.E.L.D. after all!
Why?
Because his power was laid bare like that. His job was relatively stable—he just needed to live in the Marvel Universe.
But his income, the Origin Matter that could realize any imagination...
How much of that Origin Matter he got depended on the number of lives he influenced!
In the Marvel Universe, how could he affect more people's fates?
Stir things up!
For the Origin Matter, Heisenberg had to raise hell in this world.
Without S.H.I.E.L.D. standing in front of him, his surroundings would soon be...
Spies from every country in the world, the CIA, the FBI, MI7, Hydra, the Red Room...
Just thinking about that chaotic mess, Heisenberg would rather face only S.H.I.E.L.D.—that single group of disgusting agents.
Even though they were still agents, even though they still reeked of the stench of secret-keepers.
At least most of them had familiar faces!
Bad things, or even worse things—which would you choose?
And so it was.
Heisenberg basked in the sun as he sorted through his plans for the coming period.
He decided to leave things as they were for now.
Use S.H.I.E.L.D. to get the keys to involvement in major events, use S.H.I.E.L.D. to obtain enough intel and to keep his personal information under wraps.
Use S.H.I.E.L.D. to enjoy enough material comforts—Heisenberg wanted to experience a night where Young Master Hai picked up the tab for everyone!
And finally, use S.H.I.E.L.D. to forge a sharp, formidable image to the outside world. If he could even brush off S.H.I.E.L.D., those petty little organizations better stay far away from him.
In short, Heisenberg had made up his mind.
Before S.H.I.E.L.D. was crippled by Hydra's counterattack.
He would ride roughshod over S.H.I.E.L.D., lording it over them.
Squeezing every last drop of oil out of S.H.I.E.L.D.—that would be the only way to make his trip to the Marvel Universe worthwhile!
At this very moment, Nick Fury, having just pulled his pants back on, had no idea.
His future misery was only just beginning!
And that future, utterly wretched Nick, was now gathering all S.H.I.E.L.D. agents above Level 7, along with Hill.
Many senior agents were out in the field, so the conference room was stocked with equipment for creating holographic projections.
Nick Fury sat among a crowd of dummies, projecting the video he'd already extracted from the mechanical eyeball onto the big screen.
Instantly, those senior agents, who usually looked down their noses at everyone, all widened their eyes in unison!
Seeing the shock on their faces, Nick Fury began to speak.
"Heisenberg has been confirmed as an extraterrestrial visitor, claiming to be the Chief Elder of the Kryptonian Council—in other words, the Leader of Krypton!"
"Hold on!"
Nick Fury had barely said two sentences when someone cut him off.
An old man with a cigarette dangling from his lips frowned and asked.
"Are you sure you didn't get it wrong? A Kryptonian? Isn't that from the comics?"
"John, I doubt it too, but go check the files yourself.
Look at his indestructible steel body, look at the ordinary punch that caused a magnitude-six earthquake, and then look at his signature Heat Vision and Freeze Breath!"
Nick Fury's tone wasn't great, because right now he didn't much like the person he was talking to.
John Garrett, his old comrade-in-arms.
They used to share a bond forged through life-and-death situations.
But as time passed and they worked together longer, Garrett seemed to grow more and more opinionated against him.
No matter the issue, Garrett always liked to take a jab at him.
Still, Nick never dug deeper, because Garrett only ever threw out a few jabs.
Like now.
After Nick emphasized his point, Garrett nodded in understanding and fell silent.
So Nick Fury continued.
"Let's get back to business. Heisenberg landed on Earth at 12:26 a.m. and left the Three-Winged Building at 3:43 a.m.
Satellite data shows that in just seven hours, he circled the globe over seven thousand times at a terrifying speed—at least none of our current missiles can keep up with or track him.
At the same time, Heisenberg has a strong desire for attention and a thirst for dominance. He's used to communicating with others in a commanding tone and mindset.
In short, he poses an absolute threat to Earth, and I want everyone to pool their ideas and come up with a proper solution!"
"A solution?"
John Garrett sneered.
"Based on what he showed in that video, what do you think we can do about him? We can't even deal with that big green guy!"
"So what, we just let him run wild on our planet, even if he might one day decide to ride roughshod over us and turn from Krypton's ruler into Earth's ruler?" Nick was still displeased.
Garrett shook his head dismissively.
"Nick, you don't need to ask us about this. Dealing with superhumans like him is more your forte.
Of course, if we're talking about assassination—as long as it's not someone like Heisenberg—I'm definitely better at it than you!"
"I'm not asking you to do anything, Garrett. If he really has the kind of power Superman has in the comics, then I can say for sure that our entire country combined probably couldn't do much to him!"
Facing Garrett's teasing, Nick Fury slammed the table hard.
"Right now, I've gathered you all here to make sure you know there's a man named Heisenberg!
He has no restraints. He could barge into any of our divisions at any time, and his reason might just be that he wants a cup of coffee from S.H.I.E.L.D.
In short, when that happens, as long as he has a reasonable excuse, I don't want any division to take the initiative to attack him and provoke his anger!"
With that, Nick Fury fell silent for a full two minutes.
Only when the senior agents below started whispering among themselves did Nick Fury speak again to cut them off.
He said one last thing.
"As long as we don't have a surefire way to kill him, you all must follow my orders!
Do not antagonize Heisenberg. Absolutely not!"
