"That's true. If we can negotiate and get something in return, there's no harm in it." Yue Ning Progenitor finally relented.
At this, Emperor Zuntian smiled faintly. "I'm glad you've come around, Senior Master."
Huantao cupped her fists. "Thank you, Grandmaster, for granting my wish!"
Yue Ning Progenitor shook her head. "The item they're looking for may not be in my possession. Don't get your hopes up just yet."
Emperor Zuntian waved a hand. "I've done all I can. The rest is up to fate."
As an Ancient Ancestor of Haoyue Palace, he had made a considerable concession for his disciple. That was more than enough.
Huantao was satisfied, too.

"Senior Master, summon Gaishi," Emperor Zuntian said.
"Why the hurry?" Yue Ning Progenitor knew that Gaishi was undergoing Elder Ancestor Gai Yan's tempering. He couldn't get away right now, so this wasn't the time to summon him.
"Go back first. Once Gaishi comes out of seclusion, I'll meet with him," Yue Ning Progenitor promised. She knew Emperor Zuntian well; without a definite answer, he certainly wouldn't leave.
"This
