"Honestly, Master! Can't he change that temper of his?" An Ning was angry on Dao Wushuang's behalf as well.
Dao Wushuang had meant well, yet the Venerable Lord had not only refused to appreciate it, but even threatened him.
"If he could change, he wouldn't be Infinite Heaven." Dao Wushuang chuckled.
"I suppose that's true." An Ning thought of herself. Even her own personality could only change slowly, so how could Infinite Heaven, who had lived for untold ages, possibly change?
"The Forbidden Land isn't somewhere you can just go whenever you please, is it? Otherwise, wouldn't outside enemies who dislike the Thirty-Three Heavens have attacked long ago?" An Ning asked.
"Indeed, it isn't somewhere you can simply go, but an opportunity has happened to arise recently," Dao Wushuang said.
"You seem a little worried, Senior Brother. Has something happened?" An Ning asked.
"Based on what we currently know, the Beyond-Realm Lands have begun entertaining certain intentions. Before long, they'll likely make a move to probe the Thirty-Three Heavens," Dao Wushuang said.
"They can come over whenever they want?" An Ning was puzzled. "Does that mean people here can leave whenever they want too? Surely not?"
"Of course not, but for now, they have an advantage unique to them." A rare flicker of worry crossed Dao Wushuang's eyes.
"What is it?" An Ning asked.
"The karma involved is too great. I can't tell you—even I have to tread carefully around it." Dao Wushuang shook his head.
"Could it be that more than one of the Beyond-Realm Lands has designs on the Thirty-Three Heavens?" An Ning asked.
"Of those who understand the Thirty-Three Heavens, who would dare come alone to stroke a tiger's backside?" Dao Wushuang said.
"Then what do we do? Just wait for them to come and do nothing?"
