Background
Dao Wushuang first appears among the Imperial Light Giants as an exceptionally independent figure. He disregards the Imperial Lord's orders and leaves rather than participate, later dismissing a request for guidance by reminding Han Que that he is only a supervisor. 911 951
His reputation precedes him: contemporaries describe him as a prodigy who crushes both ordinary and monstrous peers in a single move, while the Imperial Lord warns that even senior Imperial Court figures cannot contend with him. 977
Dao Wushuang takes an interest in Hua Yunfei early on, agreeing to exchange a move with him and later insisting on personally fighting him. Their battle escalates through Hua Yunfei's Reincarnation techniques and Dao Wushuang's Great Dao Battle Body before Hua Yunfei defeats him with the Myriad Daos Battle God Body. Dao Wushuang nevertheless treats Hua Yunfei as the one opponent worthy of comparison. 977 1163
He becomes involved in Duan Jingtian's conflict with Zhou Qingran and the Blue-clothed Youth. Dao Wushuang forces Duan Jingtian to apologize, offers him advice before his duel, and later intervenes to protect him because Duan is “somewhat” his person. 1081 1145 1156
During the conflict between the High-Level Heavenly Vault and the lower realms, Dao Wushuang protects Hua Yunfei from the Giant Demon Race and Ghost Phoenix Race, ordering them to withdraw despite their mission to seize special physiques. He later secretly gives Hua Yunfei an Enlightenment Ancestor Tree tea leaf. 1569
The Heavenly Mandate Daoist Academy is Dao Wushuang's faction and bears the name he gave it. Its War King and Sword King regard themselves as his people alone and follow him without reservation. 1637
Dao Wushuang later forms a more open friendship with Hua Yunfei, Tianming Wuji, and Nether Son. Even while their respective factions remain opposed, he drinks and travels with them, refusing to interfere with Hua Yunfei's larger conflict against the Black Dragon Clan. 1885 1887 1890 1902
The being buried in the Burial Heaven Ancient Mine is ultimately identified as Dao Wushuang, revealing him to be the first and most powerful Young Heaven of all time. 1956
Dao Wushuang's conduct gradually becomes increasingly abnormal. The War King notices that his methods had begun changing years earlier, while Hua Yunfei, Nether Son, and Tianming Wuji later learn that he has become hostile, violent, and liable to ask Hua Yunfei to kill him. They suspect that prolonged pressure, the Venerable Lord's departure, and a suppressed or altered personality contributed to his decline. 1842 2567
During the Realm War, Dao Wushuang demonstrates a harsher form of authority by punishing the Gao Family Clan Leader and a woman who attempted to remove the Imperial Empress from the battlefield. He summons Judgment Venerable Old Lu to destroy the woman's body and refine her origin, divine soul, and Dao Fruit, strips the clan leader of his position, and orders the woman imprisoned at the Heavenly Mandate Daoist Academy. 2659
Dao Wushuang subsequently takes Xia Qiuer away and secretly implants the Primordial Flower and the Mortal Sword, Heart-Questioner, in her body. Although the pair can improve her cultivation, they also bind her life to Dao Wushuang, their original master. Hua Yunfei, Jiang Ruoyao, and An Ning coordinate a deception to rescue Xia Qiuer, exploiting Dao Wushuang's confidence in his own overwhelming strength. 2664 2665 2666 2670
After Xia Qiuer's rescue, Dao Wushuang confronts Hua Yunfei directly. He suppresses the Primordial God Realm with the Wushuang Dao Realm and claims that his earlier parity with Hua Yunfei had been deliberate restraint, but Hua Yunfei resists his Heaven's Order techniques and challenges him to a genuine battle. The confrontation remains unresolved after Xia Qiuer's condition forces Hua Yunfei to disengage. 2665 2666 2669 2680
Beyond the Boundary later seeks to obtain Dao Wushuang in exchange for concessions in the Realm War. Battle Ancestor refuses to surrender him, while Hong Yan continues to fight on behalf of Dao Wushuang rather than for the Thirty-Three Heavens generally. 2688
Appearance
Dao Wushuang is a tall, black-haired young man whose usual bearing is relaxed, dashing, and difficult to read. He commonly carries a wine gourd and favors lofty places overlooking the world when drinking. 1080 1569 1885 1887
- Tall and straight-backed, with long black hair worn loose. 1569 1885
- Often carries a wine gourd at his waist or in hand. 1080 1569
- Usually wears a faint smile and projects an easygoing, rebellious air. 1569
- An avatar encountered by Huang Yuchuan had a sharply different presence: bare-chested, cold, wild, silent, and described as more corpse-like than human. 1959
- Following his transformation, his familiar appearance is accompanied by manic excitement, hostility, and a killing intent that even longtime companions find unrecognizable. 2665
Personality
Dao Wushuang is carefree in ordinary matters and frequently responds to pressure with humor, drinking, or deliberate nonchalance. He openly ignores commands from figures such as the Imperial Lord and treats formal political divisions as secondary to his own judgment. 911 951 1890
Beneath that ease is a fiercely competitive Dao Heart. He seeks worthy opponents, becomes excited when pushed, and has historically considered Hua Yunfei the rival most qualified to stop him. 1163 2085 2121
He is also secretive and cautious. Even when he gains a decisive advantage, he retains hidden methods for unforeseen reversals; his own allies repeatedly discover that he has withheld more strength than expected. 1349 1983 1986
Despite his status, Dao Wushuang formerly showed loyalty to those he accepted. He protected Duan Jingtian, valued the War King and Sword King, assisted the Peach Tree's breakthrough, treated An Ning as a cherished junior sister, and initially sought Hua Yunfei's blessing to pursue Xia Qiuer. 1156 1637 2088 2343 2355
This considerate side has become increasingly obscured by an unstable, domineering disposition. He now reacts violently to resistance, openly belittles Hua Yunfei, frightens An Ning, and treats Xia Qiuer's autonomy as subordinate to his plans. Whether this reflects a new personality overtaking him or the intentions of his original self remains uncertain. 2567 2664 2665 2670
Cultivation & Standing
- At the time of his battle with Kun Zhou, Dao Wushuang is stated to possess War Emperor Grade cultivation, yet his main body defeats the first-step Hegemon Grade cultivator in ten moves. 2085
- His inner Wushuang Dao Realm is believed to surpass Hua Yunfei's Primordial God Realm at that time. 2085 2090
- A warm-up spar between Dao Wushuang and Hua Yunfei's main body ends without a clear advantage because neither side fights seriously. 2088 2090
- He has earned his “greatest of all time” title through battle rather than self-proclamation, including subduing opponents from other timelines. 2353
- The manifested Wushuang Dao Realm later suppresses Hua Yunfei's Primordial God Realm so thoroughly that Hua Yunfei struggles to access it. 2665
- In his battle with Hua Yunfei, both are regarded as having reached the absolute limit of their current realm; their foundations, physical bodies, and defenses prevent a quick resolution. 2669

Abilities & Skills
All-Around Cultivation
Dao Wushuang cultivates multiple supreme scriptures and has attained mastery across numerous fields rather than specializing in a single path. Hua Yunfei identifies him as an all-around prodigy with exceptionally broad methods. 977
- Overwhelms prodigies of the same generation, including those who have established their own paths. 977
- Retains hidden techniques even after appearing to reveal his full strength. 1349 1986
- Possesses a Great Dao Battle Body, which he activates after escaping Hua Yunfei's Reincarnation. 1163
- Possesses physical strength sufficient to halt Hua Yunfei's Six Paths Reincarnation Fist with a single finger. 2665
Heaven's Order
Dao Wushuang's Heaven's Order techniques impose commands directly upon opponents, their abilities, or the battlefield.
- Heaven's Order: Deprive — forcibly strips an opponent's ability or removes the divinity from a weapon. It prevents the Scarlet Figure from phasing through attacks and renders Huang Yuchuan's ancient shield ordinary. 1101 1960
- Heaven's Order: Annihilation — a destructive command that Hua Yunfei disperses without taking action. 1104
- Heaven's Order: Invalid — nullifies incoming techniques, though Tiangang later counters it through Flower Transfer, Wood Grafting. 1986
- Heaven and Earth Reconstruction — reconstructs the surrounding space and reverses time, but Hua Yunfei counters it with Severing Heaven and Earth. 2666
- Heaven's Order: Rule Prohibition — seals surrounding Laws and suppresses an opponent's power; Hua Yunfei forcibly breaks free of it. 2669
Law Reversal
Dao Wushuang can erase techniques and reverse control over them.
- His initial wave of power causes Laws, Daoist Magic, Chaos, and other techniques to vanish. 1101
- Law Reversal seizes control of an opponent's technique; he takes command of the Scarlet Figure's Heaven and Earth Sword and turns it against her. 1101
Change Heaven and Earth
A concealed Divine Ability capable of exchanging power between targets without apparent warning. 1983
- Swaps Tiangang's strength with Gaishi's, severely weakening Tiangang. 1983
- Exchanges the power of the Small Pagoda with that of another combatant's weapon. 1983
- Its unexpected nature makes it particularly dangerous as a decisive move against opponents who believe they understand the battlefield. 1983
Heaven and Earth Apocalypse
A reserve technique activated after Dao Wushuang is injured and temporarily left with Gaishi's strength. 1986
- Restores his exchanged strength and Heavenly Saber. 1986
- Raises his power further through a massive Dao-pattern manifestation. 1986
- Enables Judgment: Shatter, which destroys the Small Pagoda. 1986
- Allows him to draw destructive forces, including the power of nearby Emperors and Myriad Spirits, into himself. 1986
Wushuang Dao Realm
Dao Wushuang possesses an inner world known as the Wushuang Dao Realm, which can be manifested as an immense world totem and used to overwhelm other domains. 2085 2665
- Its world power suppresses Hua Yunfei's Primordial God Realm and prevents Hua Yunfei from freely drawing upon that realm. 2665
- Its pressure is strong enough to make Hua Yunfei cough blood and retreat despite Hua Yunfei's exceptional foundation. 2665
- The realm is central to the Venerable Lord's plan for Dao Wushuang's future growth, as the Venerable Lord believes it could evolve further by absorbing the Primordial God Realm. 2085

Dao Wushuang can dispatch extraordinarily powerful alternate bodies.

- Dao Wushuang later confirms that the body visiting Hua Yunfei outside the Primordial God Realm is an avatar of his main body. 2087
Relationships
- Hua Yunfei — greatest rival, respected opponent, and former friend. They spar repeatedly, drink together despite factional conflict, and encourage one another's growth; however, Dao Wushuang's transformation turns their relationship into an open and unresolved confrontation.
