After the God Emperor was teleported away, the Immortal and God Realms called a halt to the war.
The Immortal Realm had never wanted to fight in the first place. The God Realm, meanwhile, knew the Immortal Realm wouldn't be easy to chew through, so it wanted to wait for the God Emperor's return before taking the Immortal Realm in one fell swoop.
And so the two sides stared each other down, keeping one another in check as the stalemate dragged on.
Of course, trading threats was a necessary part of the process. Even though the God Emperor had fallen for their trap and been teleported away, the God Realm cultivators weren't the least bit flustered.
For one thing, the God Realm was stronger than the Immortal Realm overall. And even if the God Emperor had been teleported away, he would return soon enough.
In other words, the God Realm still couldn't lose. It was only a matter of when it would win.

No matter how they struggled, they couldn't hurt the God Emperor in the slightest. He would still return in triumph.
