Chen Mo rode an ordinary Japanese-made motorcycle through three checkpoints and finally left Sasebo!
Of course, the inspectors found it rather strange that Chen Mo was dressed ordinarily and not like a biker gang member.
Because of the recent heart-pounding incident, Chen Mo did not want to waste any more time. He rode straight to the train station.
He planned to take the Shinkansen to Kyoto.
Fortunately, all his identification documents were in order now, so buying a ticket was easy!
The journey passed without incident, and with his altered appearance, no missy or girl came up to chat with him.
By the time he arrived in Kyoto, it was already afternoon!
The timing was fine. He took out the phone he had gotten from the biker gang and dialed the contact person's number he had been given before leaving China.
But the call Chen Mo made said the phone was switched off!
That left him at a loss! What was going on? Hadn't they said the contact person was undercover and that all he had to do was call this number and give the password? So what the hell was with the phone being off?
Chen Mo could not exactly call China at this point. He decided to wait and contact home tomorrow if he still could not contact them!
He found a hotel in Kyoto and stayed there, calling the number every so often to see whether the phone had been turned on.
Fortunately, persistence paid off. The next morning, the phone finally came on, and someone answered after two rings.
After a round of "moshi moshi," the other side said nothing, though the line remained connected.
Chen Mo thought for a moment and gave a password number. The other side recited a string of numbers as well.
