With the explosions, more than a dozen steps snapped off at the point where they connected to the stone pillar, instantly opening a gap between them and the lower staircase.
The spacing between each step of the Stone Ladder was fairly wide, around sixty centimeters each. Once more than ten steps had been blown apart, the resulting gap was too wide for even the powerful Green Wolves to leap across.
