The long blade cut through the air with a shrill "whoosh," tearing through the airflow.
Fortunately, Chen Mo had considered this while retreating. So although the long blade carried a faint intimidating force, along with its piercing whistle and extreme speed, none of it was much of a problem for him.
Intimidation was also an application of Mental Power. It was like someone whose Mental Power leaked outward, or someone with a powerful aura. Simply meeting their gaze could make others feel an imposing presence, or pressure.
The intimidation carried by the long blade was actually more likely the effect of some rune within it. Although Chen Mo had not examined it, he was certain that the puppets could not attach intimidation-type Mental Power to the blade and use it to intimidate enemies during an attack.
Like the mercenary captain just now, his mind had been briefly dazed by the intimidation carried by the blade, slowing his reaction. That was why he had been pinned to the spot in an instant.
But this intimidation had no effect whatsoever on Chen Mo. If that was all the Mental Power it had, then the Spiritual Sea in Chen Mo's mind was its ancestor. It could not interfere with him at all.
Watching the long blade fly toward him, he shifted his footing slightly and slipped behind a stone pillar. The blade scraped past the pillar and buried itself in it, with one-third of the blade sunk inside.
The moment Chen Mo saw the blade, he grinned. Reaching out, he gave it a pull. It had gone in quite deep, but how could someone at the Foundation Establishment Realm fail to pull it out?
He exerted a little force for show, then wobbled the hilt as though he were straining before pulling it
