Vassilly sat in the study room drinking, his body exhausted but his mind wired. Unable to sleep, he kept switching screens and browsing webpages on his computer.
He was not visiting any sensitive websites. Instead, he was reading domestic current-affairs news and certain specialized information.
Much of his intelligence had been uncovered through such news. Even some sensitive information had been found this way and sent to Europe, saving him quite a bit of trouble.
Of course, as a foreigner conducting covert work within the country, he did not visit any special or particularly sensitive websites while browsing online. He only opened public sites.
As he browsed, he occasionally looked up at a display screen hanging on the wall.
Vassilly had always been cautious, so he had installed monitoring equipment wherever he lived to observe the area around the building.
A large television screen was mounted on the study room wall, displaying surveillance footage from around the villa. From the study, he could see everything happening around the house.
He was an extraordinary individual, that much was true, but he had no desire to be discovered by Huaguo's Special Affairs Administration. Being careful was essential.
Just as he took another sip of red wine and clicked open a webpage, he caught a fleeting shadow on his surveillance screen.
"Hmm?" The shadow immediately aroused his suspicion. He grabbed the remote control, pressed a few buttons, and replayed the footage.
The shadow flashed across the screen with incredible speed, but with the footage slowed down, he could clearly make out a human figure. He immediately realized it was an extraordinary individual.
However, if one of the extraordinary individuals under his command had come looking for him, they would never have acted like this. That meant he had been exposed.
