Ouyang Nan looked at the pills in Chen Mo's hand and was filled with emotion. Even her own Clan Leader Older Brother did not have so many pills. Before setting out on this expedition, her niece had told her that the pills Chen Mo had given her came in great variety and quantity, enough to make her a little jealous.
"I never expected you to have even this kind of pill prepared. You've truly surprised me."
"It's an expedition. How could I join without preparing some things?" Chen Mo said with a chuckle.
"But, A Mo, I still can't agree to this. Keeping watch here and monitoring the Strange Beasts in the gorge is better done by two people working together. If anything urgent happens, I can lend a hand," Ouyang Nan said.
As an elder, she could not possibly let a junior stand at the front while she retreated. She simply could not do such a thing.
Chen Mo shook his head and rejected the suggestion. "Grand Aunt, you know my strength. If danger arises, I can rely on my abilities to escape the Strange Beasts' pursuit in time. If both of us stay, we might not be able to get away in time instead."
After going back and forth for a few moments, Ouyang Nan saw that Chen Mo was resolute and stopped insisting. She nodded and said, "Fine. I'll withdraw first. But protecting yourself comes first in all things. If it can't be done, give up immediately. Understand?"
"Alright." Chen Mo agreed. "Grand Aunt, you should catch up with Ruo Xi and the others as soon as possible. Danger is everywhere in this Valley. With you by Ruo Xi's side, I'll be more at ease."
Under Chen Mo's urging, Ouyang Nan turned and left, speeding up to
