Blue-Green BUG

Removing the clearly perceptible savage genes, removing the intermittent trivial genes, removing the genes that Life Energy sensed were harmful to injury recovery...

Yuri opened his eyes and was astonished to discover that the drop of Lizard Potion on the slide had turned blue and green!

"Whoa!"

With his thoughts accelerated, a bold idea suddenly occurred to him: if he stripped away, bit by bit, the portion of the potion that appeared green to the naked eye and left behind only the pure blue, could he obtain the target potion directly?

Figuring there was no harm in trying, he focused his vision and controlled his Life Energy to brutally extract every gene that outwardly manifested as green, as well as every gene that his intuition told him could be transcribed and translated into green substances.

Looking at the two distinct drops of potion on the slide, one blue and one green, Yuri ordered the aggressively spectating Kate beside him, "Go get two white mice. Let's see what each of them does."

"Squeak! Squeak!"

"Squeak! Squeak!"

The two mice vividly demonstrated what "timid as mice, fleeing in panic" meant. They cowered in the corner farthest from Kate, screeching at the top of their lungs to show their submission.

Yuri took out two brand-new miniature syringes and drew up the two drops from the slide separately. He opened one of the cages Kate was carrying and reached his evil hand toward the trembling white mouse curled up inside. "Come here, you!"

He picked up the syringe containing the green potion and accurately plunged it into the white mouse's neck artery.

The rapidly circulating blood soon spread the potion's factors throughout its body. Less than a second later, the white mouse in Yuri's hand rapidly swelled in size, and he could clearly feel the strength of its struggles increase by more than one level!

"Squeak! Hisss~"

The mouse's transformation into a lizard was noticeably faster this time. Its slick body rammed wildly about in Yuri's hand, nearly slipping free several times.

"Hisss~ Hisss!"

The Lizard Mouse continued to expand. Huge, deformed muscles bulged beneath its scales like tumors, its tiny eyes became bloodshot and swollen, and the skin all over its body made tearing sounds under unbearable strain.

Seeing that things were going wrong, Yuri quickly threw it into the Experiment Chamber made of tempered glass and shut the door.

Bang!

A red-and-green mist of blood coated the chamber's inner walls. Yuri leaned closer to inspect it and found that only a few stark white broken bones remained, scattered throughout the chamber.

"Tsk, tsk!"

He pressed the "Automatic Cleaning" button, and jets of high-pressure disinfectant water shot from concealed nozzles inside the Experiment Chamber, quickly washing away the gruesome, blood-soaked scene.

He opened the cage in Kate's hand, took out the second mouse, and without hesitation injected the blue potion—representing "safe and harmless" in the Marvel universe—into its artery.

One second, two seconds, three seconds...

Kate poked the white mouse, which appeared unchanged, and asked blankly, "Did the potion go bad?"

"There's another possibility."

Yuri pinched one of the white mouse's hind legs between his thumb and forefinger. Surging strength erupted the next instant.

Crack!

The still-twitching severed limb, carrying bits of bone marrow and nerves, came away from its body. As the mouse flailed about in panic, worm-like buds of flesh emerged from the otherwise empty, profusely bleeding wound at a speed visible to the naked eye!

Bone, flesh, sinew...

A brand-new, powerful hind leg regenerated, kicking and bouncing energetically under its owner's control.

Yuri placed this white mouse into the Experiment Chamber, then personally fetched a fresh white mouse and placed it beside the first.

Using the same method, he separated the original Lizard Potion into blue and green portions. After storing them separately in miniature syringes, he opened the cage and directly tore off one hind leg of this white mouse without injecting it with any potion.

"Squeak! Squeak!"

Amid the white mouse's terrified screams, he injected the blue potion into its body. A brand-new hind leg soon emerged, replacing the original factory part Yuri was holding in his hand.

"Now comes the moment of truth."

He called the still-beastly Kate over to the Experiment Chamber and ordered her to keep injuring the two mice "with restraint."

He himself walked over to Dr. Connors, whose surface temperature had begun to drop, and used the Black Sphere to store the corpse, which no longer had any use.

Eating people was out of the question.

Any Mutants who took human form were no longer allowed to feed on humans.

This corpse could only be discovered one night by some homeless people living in the sewers, who would then ignore it as it drifted away with the filthy water.

"Boss."

Kate held up two visibly thinner white mice by their tails. Though there was not a single wound visible on their bodies, she presented them to Yuri as if claiming credit. "That's enough! If I kept playing with them, they might not make it."

"Nicely done!"

Yuri took one of the white mice. A sharp, pointed claw suddenly extended from his rounded fingertip, and he lightly drew it across the mouse's back, leaving behind a wound that steadily seeped blood.

The white mouse wailed weakly. Perhaps the potion's energy had run out, or perhaps there were no longer enough nutrients in its body to provide the energy needed to regenerate severed limbs. The wound on its back healed astonishingly slowly, eventually leaving behind a small scar two or three centimeters long.

Yuri tugged on the white mouse's hind leg, but there was no sign of it breaking or collapsing. He sent golden Life Energy into it and examined it carefully, yet detected no obvious issues.

He tossed the white mouse back into the cage, looked up at Kate, and asked, "Which one is this? The one that got injected before its leg was torn off, or the one that got injected afterward?"

Kate answered without hesitation, "Boss, the one in your hand had its leg torn off before it was injected!"

Yuri nodded in satisfaction. He felt that he had truly discovered and mastered one of this world's BUGs. In the future, when conducting genetic experiments or developing new potions, as long as he made sure they appeared visibly blue in their normal state, there should basically be no major problems!

Third time's the charm—by the third go, he could find the way even in the dark.

Yuri held the tube of Lizard Potion that was supposed to have been loaded into the Canary Device and dispersed throughout New York. Only seventy to eighty percent of the potion remained; Tony had likely used up the missing portion.

Golden energy rapidly seeped into the green potion, separating it with precise efficiency into two new portions: forty percent blue and sixty percent green.

Yuri found a slightly larger syringe and extracted all of the green "hazardous waste." After thinking it over, he also took away half of the remaining blue "useful material."

With a wave of his hand, he stored both syringes in the Black Sphere. Then he placed the glass tube, now containing only a two-finger-deep amount of liquid, into the experiment case and wrapped an arm around Kate, who had long since run out of patience, heading for the elevator doors.

"Boss, can we mate now?"

"Don't tear my clothes off yet. Wait, wait! At least let me lock the door first..."
