Time barely seemed to pass in the heart of the Arctic Circle, under the endless night.

Shack and the others led extremely monotonous lives. Every day, they either smashed ice and dug through glaciers or ate and rested. But not one of them complained. Kate and Vanax did it for their fellow Mutants sealed beneath the ice, while Shack, Cheetah, and Tiger did it for the sake of their future love lives.

During this time, Yuri tried to teach them how to cultivate "Marks." But, without exception, none of the five had any talent for it. They could only wield the abilities contained in a Mark as naturally as their own limbs after Yuri inscribed it on them.

Yuri emerged from the ice cave and floated into the air with his hands clasped behind his back. The energy he'd gained from the Dragon Bone not only strengthened his soul and body, but had also given him the ability to fly without his realizing it. Floating in the sky felt different from standing on the ground. When standing, all his weight pressed down on his feet; when flying, his entire body was supported evenly.

He flew over to the site where the five were digging. Vanax had been working for a long time, and golden light was shimmering in her palm. She turned her hand over and slapped the rune in her palm against her own head. A gentle golden light flashed, and her physical and mental fatigue vanished in an instant.

"You'll make good players, but you'll never become game developers."

Seeing how practiced they were, they'd clearly done this many times before. Yuri sighed softly. You lot have no imagination or creativity. How am I supposed to trust you with the responsibility of rebuilding our people?

"Boss!"
