Li Chen turned and looked at Jordan, who sat on the floor not far from midcourt, clutching his thigh with a pained expression. He was a little surprised.
He had no idea how Jordan could have suddenly fallen and gotten hurt. How could something like this happen in that state?
Wait. A possibility suddenly occurred to him: perhaps that state had a time limit.
The limit might have been due to stamina, or it might have been imposed by some external factor.
For instance, when he had entered that state before, the system's notification had sounded and he had immediately come out of it.
And now, Jordan was clearly out of energy.
At that moment, the Wizards' team doctor hurried onto the court to examine Jordan's injury.
Li Chen walked over as well.
The Wizards' doctor breathed a sigh of relief. "Good thing it's only a leg cramp."
Two team doctors then helped Jordan to his feet.
Jordan looked at Li Chen. "Rookie, I'll get you next time."
That was as far as Jordan could go. There was no way he would say that he had lost.
Li Chen shrugged. "No, you didn't lose, and neither did I."
Li Chen wasn't Kobe. He didn't go easy on anyone when it came to basketball.
Jordan had tacitly admitted that he'd lost, so of course Li Chen had to give him a way out.
Jordan was taken aback by those words. This kid sure knows how to talk, he thought. Unlike that bastard Kobe, who still had to rub it in during the All-Star Game.
A short while later, Li Chen and Jordan left the court to a round of applause from the fans.
Li Chen still hadn't come out of that state, but he decided to leave the game anyway.
