"Oh, seven or eight Thousand-Year Soul Beasts? Then it's no big deal."
The moment he finished speaking, Tang Wulin suddenly sensed that something seemed off.
"Wait? You said seven or eight Thousand-Year Soul Beasts just now, right?" Tang Wulin asked.
"Yeah. I spent the whole day training in the Star Dou Great Forest yesterday. Grandfather Elder Frost was really ruthless—he caught seven or eight Thousand-Year Soul Beasts for me."
"I ran in front while they chased me from behind. If they caught me, I had to train for another hour!"
"It would've been better if they were plant-type Soul Beasts, since they weren't good at speed anyway. But they were all leopard-type Soul Beasts. They were fast and precise, and I got hit several times. I ended up with a bunch of huge bumps on my head."
Luo Ze looked as though he wanted to cry as he recounted what had happened to him yesterday.
If he had not been familiar with the surroundings of the Star Dou Great Forest, and if the Bloodline Suppression of his Kirin Martial Soul had not protected him, he would have ended up in their stomachs yesterday.
But strangely enough, although those Soul Beasts were fast, they did not seem to intend to hurt him. Even when they attacked, it was only probing and teasing. They were remarkably intelligent.
It felt as though they had discussed it beforehand.
While Luo Ze was lost in thought, Tang Wulin, who had been listening from the side, was so frightened that his tongue nearly fell out.
He had not heard wrong, had he? Luo Ze had been chased by seven or eight Thousand-Year Soul Beasts for an entire day?! And it was only training!
My heavens, what kind of freak had to be capable of something like that?!
After all, the number of Soul Beasts was gradually declining. Most Soul Masters now relied on Soul Spirits, and few people still went out to hunt Soul Beasts.
For one thing, with Soul Beasts becoming rarer, buying a Soul Spirit was far safer than hunting a Soul Beast.
For another, the Star Dou Great Forest was an extremely dangerous place. Even an ordinary Thousand-Year Soul Beast possessed strength comparable to the simulated Ten-Thousand-Year Soul Beasts in the Soul Spirit Tower.
Luo Ze had spent an entire day running from seven or eight of them by himself. One could easily imagine just how powerful his physique and strength were. He was simply a monster beyond description by numbers or words!
"Brother Luo, can I ask you a question?" Tang Wulin suddenly asked.
"What question?" Luo Ze came back to his senses and looked at Tang Wulin in confusion.
"Are you really human? Not some monster transformed from a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast?"
Tang Wulin looked at Luo Ze with complete sincerity, his gaze practically piercing through him.
Luo Ze shot him a speechless glance and was just about to make a move when Na'er, who had slowly appeared, beat him to it and pressed Tang Wulin directly onto the table.
"How can you talk to my brother like that? You're the monster! Your whole family is full of monsters!" Na'er snapped angrily.
As she spoke, she cupped Luo Ze's face with a worried expression and examined him carefully. "Are you alright? Are you hurt?"
"No. I just ran around all day. I'm tired, hungry, and sleepy. Once this class is over, I'm going to get some proper sleep!" Luo Ze said, blinking as he avoided her gaze.
Although Luo Ze brushed it off lightly, Na'er still noticed something was wrong.
There were several obvious scratches on Luo Ze's arms and calves. Though Luo Ze had tried to conceal them with the scent of blood, Na'er still caught them with her sharp senses.
Hmph, so he treated my words like water off a duck's back. Na'er's purple eyes turned cold as she silently released a formless killing intent where Luo Ze could not see it.
"But as the saying goes, the more dangerous the moment, the more it can bring out one's potential. After yesterday's training, I feel like my bloodline has improved quite a bit!" Luo Ze clenched his fist, feeling the bloodline within him begin to boil.
"It's good that you've improved, but your safety still comes first. Brother, I don't want to see you get hurt!" Na'er said.
"It's fine. I have your protective charm keeping me safe!" Luo Ze smiled as he pulled out the necklace around his neck and showed it to Na'er.
"Idiot." Na'er smiled.
For the next month, Luo Ze repeated the brutal and dangerous training. The number of Soul Beasts chasing him increased from seven or eight at the beginning to twelve, and eventually sixteen.
It seemed that he had grown accustomed to this sort of pursuit. During training, he would occasionally attack the Soul Beasts as well.
His purpose was naturally to test the gap between himself and Thousand-Year Soul Beasts. More importantly, he wanted to further provoke danger and force himself into desperate situations.
The reason Luo Ze dared to do this was naturally because Grandfather Elder Frost was by his side. With a Limit Douluo protecting him, what was wrong with being a little bolder?
"Take this!"
Halfway through his run, Luo Ze suddenly turned around and released his Kirin Martial Soul. The powerful weakening effect of his First Soul Skill instantly suppressed several Wolf Leopards close behind him, and he charged forward at high speed.
Although Luo Ze's Soul Skill focused on weakening and control, the power he could personally unleash was not reduced in the slightest. After another month of training, the strength he could erupt with was only greater than before!
With a single punch, he sent the leading Wolf Leopard flying hundreds of meters away before swiftly widening the distance again.
Although Luo Ze could inflict considerable damage through Bloodline Suppression and Kirin Pressure, there were too many of them. If they truly attacked together, Luo Ze would not be their match.
As long as he defeated their leader, the pack would be left leaderless. Such a large group would naturally collapse without being attacked!
Sure enough, after seeing their leader sent flying, the remaining suppressed Wolf Leopards looked at Luo Ze in terror and scattered in all directions in panicked flight.
Not far away, Elder Frost nodded in satisfaction. In just one month, Luo Ze's strength had already reached the point where he could contend with Thousand-Year Soul Beasts.
As expected of the master chosen by the Kirin Martial Soul.
Elder Frost nodded approvingly and used his soul bone skill to teleport Luo Ze back.
"The first month of training is over. Rest well. Next month will only be harder!"
"Don't worry, Grandfather Elder Frost. No matter how hard it gets, I'll endure it!"
Luo Ze looked at Elder Frost gratefully. Without his harsh training over the past month, Luo Ze's physique would never have improved so quickly.
"You brat, hurry along. Someone's waiting for you." Elder Frost said with a smile.
Luo Ze smiled embarrassedly, then bid Elder Frost farewell and headed for the beach. Na'er was still waiting for him there!
The afterglow of the setting sun filled the sea, rising and falling among the waves like golden ribbons. By this beautiful shore, the sunset clouds looked especially enchanting.
By the seaside, a silver-haired young girl closed her eyes and felt the warmth of the sea breeze brushing across her face.
"It's so beautiful. If time could stay at this moment forever, how wonderful would that be?" Na'er could not help sighing.
"If you like it, I'll bring you here every day." Luo Ze smiled faintly, walked to Na'er's side, and naturally took her hand.
"It's different with you, Brother. Not every sunset... has you." Na'er's voice trembled, and her gaze toward Luo Ze was filled with attachment and reluctance.
"Na'er, are you angry because I haven't spent time with you these past few days? I'm sorry! I apologize, and I promise I'll make it up to you properly during these days of rest!"
Luo Ze noticed the sadness in Na'er's eyes and spoke in a flustered tone, making her a promise.
Na'er did not answer. Instead, she continued as though speaking to herself. "Brother, if I leave, will you miss me?"
