At the banquet, students sat at their tables waiting, while the new students were still outside listening to the professors' introductions.
Speaking of which, Slytherin's dining table was moved next to Gryffindor's this year, so Draco didn't have to sneak over every now and then.
"Potter, Potter!"
Harry looked back, and Draco quietly asked, "I heard you fainted on the train, what happened?"
Harry recalled some unpleasant memories and shook his head. "I don't know why that monster targeted me."
Draco frowned. "That's not right. Although Dementors are disgusting, they shouldn't attack people randomly. Otherwise, my parents would have warned me. And after all my efforts, only you were targeted by him. Could it be aimed at you?"
"Aimed at me?" Harry thought that apart from turning Aunt Marge into a balloon over the summer, he hadn't done anything to offend the Ministry of Magic.
"Regardless, be careful these past few days. My dad said the Ministry of Magic has been negotiating with Dumbledore, wanting to have Dementors stationed at Hogwarts to catch Sirius."
"Bloody hell! Are they crazy? Bringing those monsters to the school."
Bing Huan waved for them to come closer. "This hasn't been announced yet, so don't spread it around to avoid causing panic. Regardless, Harry must have something special about him. To be safe, go straight back to your dormitories when it's time later."
"Aren't you going back?"
"I have some things to ask Old Dumbledore about. You don't think Dementors would dare to cause trouble for me in front of Dumbledore, do you?"
Hermione: "Everyone, send each other messages once you're back in the dormitories."
"Okay~"
Just as they returned to their seats, their names were called again. "Potter, Granger, and that stinky kid next to Granger! Come here." It was Professor McGonagall.
They followed nervously, unable to help themselves. In front of Professor McGonagall, students always felt like they had done something wrong.
Fortunately, they hadn't had time to make any mistakes this year. Professor McGonagall gestured for the three of them to sit by the fireplace. "Professor Lupin sent an owl with a message about what happened to you on the train. How are you now, Harry?"
Just then, Madam Pomfrey also walked in. She stared at Harry strangely. "Did you get into some dangerous situation again, little boy?"
"It was a Dementor, Poppy."
Madam Pomfrey's gaze immediately became serious. While examining Harry carefully, she grumbled, "How could those idiots think it was a good idea to put Dementors around the school?"
"Is there any problem?"
"Hmm, no big problem, just eat some chocolate."
"I already have," Harry said. "On the train, Professor Lupin gave me some. He even made everyone eat it."
"Hmm, finally, a Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher who knows how to treat the symptoms. Still, you need to rest these two days. I'm leaving now, McGonagall."
After Madam Pomfrey left, Professor McGonagall looked at Harry. "Are you really alright?"
Harry nodded.
"Alright then, wait by the door for a moment. I need to talk to Granger and this kid about the class schedule."
Under Professor McGonagall's kind gaze, Harry walked out and closed the door.
"You're getting more and more capable, Bing Huan!" (The art style suddenly changed) "If Professor Lupin hadn't mentioned it in his letter, I wouldn't have known you almost tore apart the Hogwarts Express."
Bing Huan: (´-ω-`)
"I couldn't help it, the situation was urgent. I couldn't just watch the Dementor attack Harry, could I? And I don't know the Patronus Charm, right? I had to use something with a bit more destructive power, hehe~"
"You're still laughing!"
After scolding Bing Huan for five minutes, she spent another five minutes reminding the two of them about things to pay attention to in their classes this semester. When they returned to the Great Hall, the Sorting Ceremony had already ended. The three of them crept back to their seats.
Before the banquet began, the Headmaster, Dumbledore, as usual, had a few words to say. "Welcome back to school, everyone, and welcome to the new students. Before we begin, there are a few things to mention this year.
First, as many of you may know, our school has welcomed several Dementors from Azkaban. They are here on official duty. They will be stationed at all entrances to the school. I must warn you. Absolutely do not approach them for no reason. Those tricks are useless, even an invisibility cloak."
Harry, Ron, and Draco exchanged glances. Well, he was talking about them.
"I don't want any young wizards to be harmed by Dementors this semester. Now, for some good news for the new semester, we are very happy to welcome two new teachers. Professor Lupin has graciously agreed to fill the vacancy for Defense Against the Dark Arts."
"Oh, Professor Snape didn't succeed again, it seems." Bing Huan muttered, looking at Snape, whose face had darkened a little. Snape had wanted to be the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher for years, although Dumbledore's answer every year was "maybe next time."
"And our second teacher." Dumbledore gestured towards a familiar figure. "Hagrid will be teaching the Care of Magical Creatures class from now on." Now everyone finally knew who had told them to buy that book that bit.
After Dumbledore announced that they could return to their dormitories, the group found Hagrid.
"Not bad, becoming a teacher without anyone knowing," Draco said, patting Hagrid's broad back.
"Congratulations, Hagrid!"
"It's all thanks to you guys. Alright, we can chat more tomorrow during the day. Go to sleep, it's too dangerous at night." Hagrid was also very excited, and more worried about Harry and the others getting hurt, urging them to go back.
Bing Huan arrived at the Headmaster's Office. Two old men had already poured tea in the room.
"I thought you'd be here soon. Have some calming tea tonight," Dumbledore said, adjusting his glasses. "Let me guess, you want to ask about the Dementors?"
"No, Old Dumbledore, do you remember? You said Voldemort accidentally left something on Harry."
Dumbledore nodded.
"The situation might be worse than we imagined. It might be a soul fragment. Earlier, when Harry was attacked by the Dementor, I clearly felt another soul's presence on him."
"Are you sure, Little Huan?"
"The other soul presence is very cold, definitely not Harry's own. It seems our initial guess was correct. Voldemort really did create that thing for resurrection, the Horcrux, and more than one. That's why his soul is so fragile.
Also, when dealing with Voldemort, we must take into account the fragment within Harry. Otherwise, it'll be truly amusing if Voldemort revives using Harry's body. Old Dumbledore, Old Grindelwald, do you have any ideas?"
"If we're to find a way, it would be to destroy that soul fragment without harming Harry. If it's truly as you say, then this soul fragment is already half a Horcrux. Within the scope of magic, we can either use a Basilisk's fang or the current Gryffindor's Sword to destroy Harry, body and soul, or we can only use the Killing Curse," Grindelwald replied, stroking his chin.
Dumbledore pondered for a moment.
"For the Killing Curse to not harm Harry, it would have to be cast with Harry's own wand, pointed at him, and that wand must not betray Harry during the casting. This way, because the wand cannot kill its master, the Killing Curse will only take effect on the soul fragment within Harry."
"But there aren't many wands with such temperaments, and even if there were, they might not recognize Harry as their master. Do you have a way on your end, kid?" Grindelwald sighed and said.
"I do, but it requires that soul fragment to act up on its own. As long as it emerges or uses its power to try and possess Harry, I'll have a way to pull it out."
"Then let's leave it at that for now. We'll decide based on the actual situation later. Oh, and don't tell Harry yet."
Bing Huan nodded. "Oh, right, there's another thing. Do you know the Patronus Charm?"
