Obito, You Have What It Takes to Become Hokage

Obito, Lin, and Uchiha Itachi all crowded closer, hoping to hear what the hawks of the Uchiha Clan were saying.

It was something they rarely got to witness. Back when Uchiha Obito was still in Konoha, he had been better off than those who could not even awaken the Sharingan, but his clan had never paid him much attention.

The Dove Faction had pitifully few members, but every one of them was an elite. Ordinary Uchiha clan members found it hard to enter their circle.

Given a little more time to grow, Obito might have joined them. As Namikaze Minato's student, he was an Uchiha with impeccable ties to Konoha.

The Hawk Faction, on the other hand, had looked down on him.

They drew close, expecting to hear a secret plan to overthrow Konoha. Instead, the group was discussing no plan at all. They were talking about Uchiha Itachi.

Nor were they criticizing Uchiha Itachi. They were praising him: so strong at such a young age, just what one would expect of the Clan Head's son.

Then they turned to someone else: Uchiha Shisui.

There was even more to say about Shisui. Everyone praised his strength, but then someone sighed:

"If it weren't for the Nine-Tails incident, Shisui would absolutely have had the potential to become Hokage."

"Remember how he used to admire Kakashi's father when he was little? That's one of the most important qualifications for becoming Hokage, too," Lin said with a smile.

"We would drag Konoha into war and plunge the entire Shinobi World into suffering. We would lead the villagers into the abyss..." he said quietly.

"At the very least, he has what it takes to become an Elder. Unfortunately, the village doesn't judge its Elders by ability, either."
